La revisión que se hace en este artículo aborda intereses de tres investigadores quienes, preocupados por analizar los sentidos de la dimensión ambiental y la institucionalidad, deciden hacer algunos aportes frente al desarrollo de capacidades sociales en lo que implicaría la consolidación del desarrollo local, particularmente, en aquellos territorios en los que ésta presenta una crisis, no sólo en sus ecosistemas, sino en la gestión institucional para protegerlos y evitar daños irreparables.
By referring to the developments of transition theories, this paper analyse the innovation pathways involving the wheat-bread value chain in Tuscany (Italy). The analysis sheds light on the relevance of the nature of social innovation carried out by grassroots initiatives in their pursuing radical change aimed at deeply redefining production-consumption practices through social interaction, to meet socially shared needs and achieving several social benefits.
This paper reportson the implementation of a conceptual framework to carry out an impact evaluation of multi-stakeholder innovation systems using the NLA as the object of study. The assessment focused on the business relationship constructs of trust and capacity development. Survey interviews, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions collected data from agribusiness stakeholders linked with the NLA and from a control group of stakeholders involved with other networks. This study presents the results from a meso-inventory conducted in Kebbi State, Northern Nigeria between March and July 2018. Was explored the extent to which the farmed-fish value chain is transforming structurally and the roles of capture fishing versus farmed fish. Kebbi is one of Nigeria’s leading states for fish production. Though largely Sudan Savanna (in the north) and Northern Guinea savanna (in the south), and thus semi-arid tropics, there is still a lot of water and a lot of fish.
This paper presents a qualitative case study of a US based beef co-operative integrated to a VBSC. Was used an analytical framework of viability, sustainability and resilience to analyse impacts at farm-level. Our analysis highlights a number of positive effects on farm-level viability, sustainability and resilience including improvements to market orientation and price stability, among others which provide crucial insights for beef PO development in Ireland.

Este libro demuestra a través de datos la importancia de la investigación y el desarrollo tecnológico, la extensión y la transferencia tecnológica, la vinculación tecnológica, las articulaciones con otras instituciones, la gestión del conocimiento y la comunicación para los desafios del desarrollo rural. Asimismo, expone que los procesos de innovación son altamente sensibles a los contextos socioeconómicos y a la implementación de políticas públicas.
El taller tuvo como objetivo el fortalecimiento de capacidades de actores nacionales en la formulación e implementación de proyectos que integren temáticas de género y cambio climático. El taller adoptó un enfoque práctico donde se compartieron diferentes herramientas para ser usadas en las diferentes fases del ciclo de proyectos con enfoque de adaptación y/o mitigación al cambio climático en el sector agrícola para garantizar una visión de género e inclusión social.
