El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar a los actores involucrados en sistema de innovación de los productores de maíz de la Región Centro de México, destacando el papel de los actores de soporte institucional en su adopción de innovaciones. Para ello, se entrevistaron 490 productores de maíz atendidos dentro del marco del programa MasAgro 2012, en los estados de Guerrero, Hidalgo, Puebla, Morelos, Estado de México y Tlaxcala. Se midió el grado de adopción de las innovaciones, y mediante la metodología de análisis de redes sociales se analizó la vinculación entre los actores.
This paper describes the learning selection approach to enabling innovation that capitalizes on the complexity of social systems at different scales of analysis. The first part of the paper describes the approach and how it can be used to guide the early stages of setting up a “grassroots” innovation process. The second part of the paper looks at how the learn selection model can be used “top-down” to guide research investments to trigger large-scale systemic change.
Despite increasing interest and support for multi-stakeholder partnerships, empirical applications of participatory evaluation approaches to enhance learning from partnerships are either uncommon or undocumented. This paper draws lessons on the use of participatory self-reflective approaches that facilitate structured learning on processes and outcomes of partnerships. Such practice is important to building partnerships, because it helps partners understand how they can develop more collaborative and responsive ways of managing partnerships.
This paper provides a review of the agricultural extension system in Jordan, with a focus on strengths and constraints, as well as options for how to improve efficiency in service delivery and efficacy in outcomes. While public extension in Jordan has gone through many reforms and phases over the past three decades, contemporary concerns related to regional conflict and blockages in access to traditional trade routes require a repositioning of extension and advisory services within the Kingdom.
The authors aimed at knowing how different learning methods, such as video shows and workshops, change farmers’ knowledge, attitudes and practices about botanical pesticides. This paper explains how video engages men and women farmers in spreading botanical pesticides across 12 villages in Bogra District, north-western Bangladesh.The authors conducted ex ante and ex post surveys among farmers from November 2009 to September 2010. For data analysis, the authors used t-test and McNemer and Wilcoxon sign rank tests.
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar los esquemas de innovación tecnológica y su transferencia en las agroempresas frutícolas del estado de Michoacán; para ello se mapeó una red de 137 nodos del sistema–producto guayaba de la región oriente de la entidad. Con el software Keyplayer 2, se calcularon los tres actores clave difusores y estructuradores, y con NetDraw se determinaron los actores conformantes de la red primaria, ello hizo un total de 33 nodos entrevistados. De éstos, se seleccionaron tres actores para efectuar el estudio de caso.
El objetivo del estudio que se refiere en este artículo ha sido identificar los estilos de liderazgo que han permitido a las organizaciones productoras de uva de mesa sonorense, incorporar la responsabilidad social empresarial (RSE). La investigación adoptó un diseño transversal descriptivo, mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario a directivos de organizaciones productores de uva. Los resultados muestran, que los liderazgos transformacionales y transaccionales permiten mayores niveles de RSE.
El objetivo del presente trabajo es abordar la estrategia de desarrollo local desde las comunidades de aprendizaje (CA), con fundamento en la generación de flujos de conocimiento que subyacen en un aula de clase y se transforma en conocimiento, en el contexto municipal - parroquial vinculado con las instituciones del sector público y privado impulsando acciones de emprendimiento e innovación con el apoyo de medios virtuales propiciando el desarrollo endógeno.
The present article reviews the results and methodological design of an evaluation at higher education centres in Bolivia, Ghana and India. The ambition of these programmes was to integrate endogenous knowledge and values into education and research programmes. The evaluation provides an example of a mixed methods design that allowed for inclusion and appreciation of perspectives of different stakeholders. An evaluation team has to consider which set of methods is responding to the project context and how the methods complement each other and can be adapted to the case.
Although an agro-based country, the farmers of Bangladesh do not receive significant returns from their products, due to some obstacles blocking the achievement of this ultimate goal. This study tries to identify the major challenges of the agroforestry product supply chains in Bangladesh, and offer an alternative solution through the involvement and experiences of farmer cooperatives within a Japanese cooperative model.
