This report provides a synthesis of all findings and information generated through a “stocktaking” process that involved a desk study of Prolinnova documents and evaluation reports, a questionnaire to 40 staff members of international organizations in agricultural research and development (ARD), self-assessment by the Country Platforms (CPs) and backstopping visits to five CPs. In 2014, the Prolinnova network saw a need to re-strategise in a changing context, and started this process by reviewing the activities it had undertaken and assessing its own functioning.

In particular, the document refers to the YPARD e-discussion, which was held in September 2012 and raised the concern of the impact of the global economic recession and climate change on agriculture. This could lead to declining agricultural productivity, and low production further impacts the declining interest of youth in Agricultural activities.

It also includes strengthening the linkages between MAIL, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and District Agriculture Offices.The primary objective is focused on improving the ministry’s institutional capacity by providing formal trainings and on the job training (coaching and mentoring) to civil servants in the target locations.

El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar, analizar y sintetizar las problemáticas que afectan la adopción innovaciones de riego en el Alto Valle del Río Negro y Neuquén y realizar un aporte a la gestión colectiva de la innovación. El riego como eje de investigación se fundamenta en que los actores consultados consideran que el estado y gestión del sistema de riego y drenaje y la eficiencia de los métodos de riego, son relevantes para el desarrollo y sustentabilidad de la actividad frutícola en la región.
