The objective of this paper is to show how Value Chain Analysis for Development (VCA4D) applied sustainable development concept for value chain analysis to establish a manageable set of criteria allowing to provide quantitative information, which is desperately lacking in many situations in developing economies, usable by decision makers and in line with policymakers concerns and strategies (the “international development agenda”).

This study analyzed the determinants of ICT usage in agricultural value chains among rural youth in Busia County, Kenya. A total of 213 young farmers were randomly selected and interviewed using semi-structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and Poisson regression model were applied in data analysis. Findings showed youth participation using ICTs was concentrated at the marketing level of the agricultural chain activities.

A “farmers’ market” identifies a common area where farmers meet periodically to sell food products which do not need to be processed before consumption. Farmers’ markets have recently experienced steady growth mainly due to increasing demand for traditional foods and rising consumers’ interest towards locally produced food products. It is also the case that they provide transparency along the supply chain and decrease information asymmetries.

El objetivo fundamental del proyecto se centró en el desarrollo de competencias técnicas y científicas institucionales para que el país esté en capacidad de implementar los compromisos del Protocolo de Cartagena.
El presente trabajo analiza la pobreza de mujeres indígenas de la Sierra Negra de Puebla, así como el desarrollo de capacidades en ellas a partir de su participación en la "Sociedad de Productores Indígenas Ecológicos Sierra Negra Sociedad Civil" (SPIESN, S. C.). La metodología utilizada fue cuanti-cualitativa: una encuesta, ocho entrevistas a profundidad, tres talleres participativos y observación participante.
A la luz de los propósitos de democratizar el acceso y apropiación del conocimiento, construir ciudadanía y humanizar, se sostiene una perspectiva que concibe a las capacidades asociadas a procesos tanto cognitivos como socioafectivos que garantizan la formación integral. A partir de ello, se propone la construcción de proyectos curriculares y pedagógicos enmarcados en políticas educativas inclusivas, preocupadas por la calidad, relevancia y pertinencia de los saberes y orientadas al crecimiento y mejora de los sujetos y las comunidades
