This brief presentation presents the main challanges, issues and oportunities regarding the implementation of climate smart agriculture. Market opportunities are increasing at a rapid pace for livestock products, fuelled by rising incomes, globalisation and urbanisation, particularly in the developing world. At the same time, these opportunities bring increased complexity in the supply channels that market, distribute, organise and govern high-value products. This begs the questions on the ability of smallholder producers to contribute to this complex process.

Se abordan realidades territoriales desde perspectivas cualitativas con productores entre 10 y 70 ha. Se indaga respecto de las visiones de nuevas tecnologías, como cambios organizacionales, de sistemas de conducción y de estrategias de diversificación para mejorar la actividad.

This book chapter reviews the literature on agricultural innovation, with the threefold goal of (1) sketching the evolution of systemic approaches to agricultural innovation and unravelling the different interpretations; (2) assessing key factors for innovation system performance and demonstrating the use of system thinking in the facilitation of processes of agricultural innovation by means of innovation brokers and reflexive process monitoring; and (3) formulating an agenda for future research.
Esta presentación dentifica factores que inciden en la adopción de tecnología e innovación productiva en la citricultura familiar en el municipio de Chajarí, Entre Ríos. Más del 80% de la producción citrícola provincial se concentra en la región NE de Entre Ríos, que es realizada por más de 1600 productores familiares con superficies de 25 ha. El 56% de la producción se destina a mercado interno, 34% a industria y 11% a exportación.
