The objective of this paper is to show how Value Chain Analysis for Development (VCA4D) applied sustainable development concept for value chain analysis to establish a manageable set of criteria allowing to provide quantitative information, which is desperately lacking in many situations in developing economies, usable by decision makers and in line with policymakers concerns and strategies (the “international development agenda”).
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development strategy in Chinese rural areas is an indispensable part of national development strategies. This paper reviews the ICT framework in agriculture and rural areas launched by the Department of Agriculture in China. It compares the rural ICT policies and strategies between China and the European Union (EU). The ICT development strategy framework is analyzed based on the situation in Chinese rural area and the experiences of the EU. Some lessons and suggestions are provided

Under the guidance of the agricultural system theory, operational research theory and decision-making support system theory, the regional agricultural development decision support system (RADDSS) was developed in this study ,in which different analysis method and models was integrated. By providing data, right models and analysis methods, RADDSS can assist decision-makers and administrators to solve half-structured and unstructured problems, improving level of management on agriculture. The agriculture in Xuchang has been analyzed using the system constructed in this study.
Extension agent is one of the important factors in the agricultural process to deliver technology information and agricultural programs from government to farmers. The good performance of agricultural extension agents will have an impact on improving the performance of farmers to increase agricultural production.In Langkat Regency, the extension agent performance was not still optimal. Factors affecting the performance of the extension agent consist of internal and external factors.
Given the diversity and context-specificity of innovation systems approaches, in March 2007 the World Bank organized a workshop in which about 80 experts (representing donor agencies, development and related agencies, academia, and the World Bank) took stock of recent experiences with innovation systems in agriculture and reconsidered strategies for their future development. El presente documento tiene por objetivo plantear sobre la base de la descripción de la cadena productiva, desde la recolección del fruto hasta la comercialización de sus productos alimentarios y no alimentarios, sus relaciones con otras actividades y productos en la canasta de bienes complejos territorializados.
El objetivo de este articulo es analizar la gobernanza de la cadena de la mora para hacer más eficiente su desempeño en el ámbito de los Sistemas Agroalimentarios Locales. Si bien la interrelación y coordinación entre actores se enmarca dentro de un programa gubernamental diseñado para tal fin, distintos factores, comportamiento del mercado, políticas macro y micro económicas y sectoriales, intereses de actores privados, condiciones de producción y de organización, determinan el proceso de toma de decisiones en la cadena.
El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar de manera comparativa los condicionantes (o limitantes) de la adopción de Tecnologías Críticas Comunes (TCC) en maíz y soja en tres provincias del país: La Pampa, San Luis y Chaco con la finalidad de delinear políticas de investigación y extensión prioritarias. Los cultivos fueron seleccionados de acuerdo a las prioridades fijadas por los Centros Regionales de INTA debido a su importancia en cada provincia.
