This paper addresses the question how public-private partnerships (PPPs) function as systemic innovation policy instruments within agricultural innovation systems. Public-private partnerships are a popular government tool to promote innovations. However, the wide ranging nature of PPPs make it difficult to assess their effects beyond the direct impacts they generate for the partners.
This paper provides a snapshot of the agriculture-nutrition nexus in the region, outlines the pathways through which agriculture can influence nutrition outcomes, elaborates on the objectives of the Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA) research consortium within this context, and highlights the core findings of the six papers that form the body of this Special Issue. Este artículo tiene por propósito comparar las redes de compras públicas para la agricultura campesina y familiar en los programas de alimentación escolar de los municipios de Granada (Antioquia-Colombia) y São Lourenço do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul-Brasil) en los años de 2016 y 2017. Para tal fin, se construyó un abordaje teórico-metodológico desde la perspectiva de las redes de política pública, articulado a dos metodologías, el Análisis de Redes Sociales y la comparación de Sistemas de Máxima Diferencia.
Efficient agricultural value chains create competitiveness and accelerate industrialisation. Though they have the ability to advance economic partnership and competition, in most African countries, agricultural value chains remain underdeveloped and underexploited; moreover, they are hardly affected by political instability with direct consequences on society. Regional integration with many spill-over, affects agriculture, while food prices and countries' macroeconomic policies affects food security.
Combatir el hambre y la desnutrición y garantizar la seguridad alimentaria son prioridades globales de acción, establecidas en la Agenda 2030, en el Objetivo 2: Hambre Cero. Su implementación requiere una acción compleja y coordinada a nivel nacional e internacional y el desarrollo de un modelo efectivo de gobernanza de la seguridad alimentaria en el futuro. América Latina es un ejemplo interesante de la regionalización de la gobernanza de la seguridad alimentaria.
Les informations géospatiales et leurs produits dérivés, conçus pour contribuer à la définition des politiques publiques agricoles, sont peu utilisés en Afrique. Les infrastructures, la formation et les compétences manquent ; les activités de recherche et développement sont dispersées et insuffisantes. Mais, surtout, les besoins restent mal formalisés et l’offre technologique, impulsée par les pays industrialisés, est peu adaptée aux caractéristiques des agricultures africaines.
Agricultural policies affect almost everyone in the world, directly or indirectly. Improvements in agricultural policy analysis capacity can therefore significantly benefit society. Based on the full report, this brief summarizes lessons learned from the Food Security Policy Innovation Lab’s capacity strengthening efforts over the 2013-2018 period and from related capacity development initiatives conducted over the last four decades by the partner institutions in Africa and Asia.

This publication presents a coherent Collaborative Framework for Food Systems Transformation (the FS Framework) that recommends key activities across the food system for accelerating the transition to sustainable food systems. The FS Framework is primarily intended for national or local government departments that are responsible for establishing institutions and designing and implementing policies at the local or national level to develop food systems in line with national objectives and goals.
