Le sud du Brésil qui possède un bon potentiel naturel en raison de son climat chaud et humide et de son relief favorable est voué principalement à l’élevage et aux cultures de soja, de riz et de maïs. Cette région, comme d’autres au Brésil, participe à la production de denrées agricoles pour le marché national et international. Elle est ainsi soumise à l’intensification des pratiques dont les impacts sur l’environnement sont notoires. L’étude concerne plus particulièrement le bassin versant de l’Ibicuí (46 800 km²), situé dans le sud-ouest de l’État de Rio Grande do Sul.
This study aims to analyze the evolution of Brazilian agricultural production from the 1960s to now and summarizes some of the main findings from the historical view of Brazilian agriculture development. The arguments should rest here on how technical change and the national system of innovations have built an institutional environment to boost the agricultural sector, particularly in the past few decades. It is not easy to describe the path of Brazilian agricultural development , but organizing some important historical facts can help creating a full picture.

The present study aims to characterize a new type of business ventures-agtech companies. Researchers conducted 3 interviews with the owners of agtechs located in Agtech valley and then by using a quantitative approach, collected secondary data of 74 firms from the Brazilian largest agricultural technology Science Park. This article contributes to the literature by characterizing the emerging type of new technology-based ventures within the agribusiness context.

The country is now one of the top global funders of agricultural innovation, with a special emphasis on funding R&D for sustainable agriculture. This document summarizes the fifteen projects that were selected by a panel of international experts as those which best represent the technological, institutional and organizational innovations carried out with and by small farmers – known as family farming - in LAC. This is the result of a hemisphere-wide competition organized in 2012 by FONTAGRO, with the aim of (1) showcasing success stories in which innovations having positive economic, social, and environmental impacts have been implemented and, (2) raising awareness regarding the importance of investing in innovation.

They provide rural communities with wide range of skills and knowledge and facilitate their interactions among the different actors to help them access support and services required for improving their livelihoods. Family Farmers are one of the important clients of RAS as they are the most predominant type of farmers worldwide.
