La extensión rural constituye un factor clave en la mejora de la calidad de vida de los pequeños productores. Se llevó a cabo un estudio cualitativo de la problemática de extensión rural en Paraguay, con particular énfasis en el departamento de Caazapá. Para esto se realizaron entrevistas a pequeños productores, extensionistas y referentes institucionales, las cuales fueron desgrabadas y su contenido categorizado.
International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) partnered with the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) in 2011 to conduct a series of policy dialogues on the prioritization of demand-driven agricultural research for development in South Asia. Dialogues were conducted with a wide range of stakeholders in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal in mid-2012 and this report captures feedback from those dialogues.
The overall objective of the Comprehensive Assessment of the Agricultural Sector (CAAS) is to provide an evidence base to enable appropriate strategic policy responses by the Government of Liberia (GoL) and its development partners in order to maximize the contribution of the agriculture sector to the Government's overarching policy objectives. Given the strong relationship between growth in agricultural productivity and poverty reduction, future efforts in Liberia need to focus on productivity enhancing measures with a pro-poor focus that increase incomes.
This report presents an update on the economic challenges facing Ethiopia with a focus on the shared goal of accelerating equitable growth. El Gobierno de Perú está comprometido en mejorar el nivel de la electrificación rural, incrementando la cobertura del servicio eléctrico en áreas rurales de un 55 por ciento estimado para fines de 2010 a un 88 por ciento para el 2020. El presente informe consiste en una evaluación de los usos productivos de la electricidad en Perú dentro del contexto del Proyecto de Electrificación Rural cuyo propósito es ampliar el servicio de electricidad y atraer la participación de la población, los gobiernos locales y las empresas eléctricas de distribución regionales.
Les « modèles d’entreprises inclusives » ont fait l’objet d’un regain d’intérêt ces dernières années, dans le cadre de débats plus généraux concernant l’accroissement des investissements agricoles dans les pays à faible revenu. Ce rapport se penche sur les coentreprises dans le secteur agricole sud-africain. L’expérience de l’Afrique du Sud présente des caractéristiques propres liées à son histoire et à son récent programme de réforme agraire. Les bénéficiaires de la réforme agraire se sont embarqués dans diverses coentreprises avec des partenaires commerciaux.
El objetivo de esta guía es proponer una metodología para la “evaluación de la sostenibilidad de los sistemas de producción de la agricultura familiar”, a través de “indicadores de sostenibilidad”. Con ellos se busca detectar “puntos críticos” en los sistemas de producción que limitan su sostenibilidad, de forma tal que se pueda iniciar un proceso de elaboración de “estrategias de gestión sostenible” enfocado al fortalecimiento de la agricultura familiar y al desarrollo de los territorios rurales en los que se desenvuelven.
