The purpose of this article is to investigate effective reformism: strategies that innovation networks deploy to create changes in their environment in order to establish a more conducive context for the realization and durable embedding of their innovation projects. Using a case study approach, effective reformism efforts are analyzed in a technological innovation trajectory related to the implementation of a new poultry husbandry system and an organizational innovation trajectory concerning new ways of co-operation among individual farms to establish economies of scale.

Le projet Fertipartenaires aide les producteurs de cette province à se concerter, à réfléchir à leurs problèmes, proposer et expérimenter des solutions et les évaluer afin d'améliorer leur sécurité alimentaire.

Este documento describe herramientas que se han diseñado para aumentar la orientación a la demanda y mejorar la efectividad del apoyo al desarrollo de la capacidad (DC), incluida en la Estrategia de la Comisión Europea para la reforma de la cooperación técnica (CT). Las herramientas se usan habitualmente en formación y talleres y también sirven de orientación a la hora de evaluar la capacidad y ayudar a los socios a desarrollar estrategias y programas de DC, especialmente a escala sectorial.
Este manual incluye muy diversas herramientas y metodologías para promover el dialogo social constructivo e incluyente, el cambio de las organizaciones, la promoción de redes y alianzas para alcanzar objetivos de paz, la planeación, el seguimiento y la evaluación orientados a impactos. Todos estos temas, desde la perspectiva de la larga experiencia de trabajo de GTZ en el mundo, están muy relacionados con las capacidades necesarias para la construcción de paz.
This Module is the first in a series of four that address capacity development competencies in FAO. It is intended to provide FAO staff and consultants with a basic understanding and knowledge of Capacity Development (CD), reflecting the international debate as well as FAO’s perspective on CD. The DURAS Project, which ran from 2004 to 2008, established a truly pioneering means of integrating innovation from science with that from communities themselves. At the heart of DURAS has been its innovative competitive grants system. Following an original selection and evaluation process that placed a premium on multi-stakeholder partnerships, 12 projects were funded in Africa and Asia over a period of three years, each involving an array of disciplines and partners.

Livelihoods, food security, and development processes in Sub-Saharan Africa are highly dependent on land management practices to generate natural ecosystem goods and services. Out of a total population of about 717 million people, almost 60 percent depend for their livelihood on agriculture, hunting, fishing, or forestry. However, unsustainable land management already is leading to large-scale land degradation trends, which pose a threat to food security and poverty alleviation in Sub-Saharan Africa. Climate change threatens to exacerbate and add to the existing vulnerabilities.
