Las organizaciones de la Agricultura Familiar de Centroamérica y República Dominicana, tienen el agrado de presentar a las comunidades, pueblos y países de la región, a las instituciones públicas que han estado interesadas en este tema y a las organizaciones de la comunidad internacional que han creído y acompañado estos procesos la Política de Agricultura Familiar Campesina, Indígena y Afrodescendiente PAFCIA.

This guide is organized into six chapters with a summary of key steps at the end of each chapter which can be considered as main highlights. Chapter one gives an introduction and an overview of the sequence of the main agricultural research and extension approaches and their shortcomings and hence the reason for the new innovation systems approaches. The first phase in the development of the Common Framework on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation systems (CD for AIS) consisted of the review of the existing literature, building up a repository of relevant documentation on agricultural innovation in general and AIS and CD for AIS. This report summarizes this first phase. In particular, Section 1 covers this brief introduction. Sections two and three focus on the review of relevant literature, presenting the methodology used and the structure of the repository itself.
