Capacity development is regarded by CGIAR as an effective vehicle for sustainable development, when embedded within broader CGIAR Research Programs (CRP). This document offers guidelines on how CGIAR and boundary partners (or those partners who take up and adapt research results for the next level of users) can successfully develop and implement strategies which support this process of integration.
This publication represents a synthesis of assessments of national agricultural innovation systems in countries of Central Asia, South Caucasus and Turkey. The first chapter gives an introduction of the project “Capacity Development for Analysis and Strengthening of Agricultural Innovation Systems in Central Asia and Turkey”, out of which the current publication reports about one of the project outputs achieved.
Les ruralités aux Suds sont marquées par une augmentation des flux de personnes et de biens et par des systèmes de mobilités diverses et complexes. Rappelant les raisons qui ont contribué à négliger les mobilités et la pluriactivité dans de nombreux travaux de recherche sur les ruralités aux Suds, l’article propose un modèle d’analyse original, sous le nom de Systèmes Familiaux Multilocalisés, qui permettrait de mieux articuler l’analyse des flux, des liens, et des temporalités mobilitaires, dans les recherches sur les systèmes de pluriactivités développés selon des logiques familiales.
Agricultural innovations are seen as a key avenue to improve nutrition and health in smallholder farm households. But details of these agriculture-nutrition-health linkages are not yet well understood. While there is a broad literature on the adoption of agricultural technologies, most studies primarily focus on impacts in terms of productivity and income. Nutrition and health impacts have rarely been analyzed. In this article, we argue that future impact studies should include nutrition and health dimensions more explicitly.
