This report aims at narrating on the FIC activity organised in Cameroon during 2017, as per planned in the 2017 annual work plans and budgets (AWPB) of both the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and the Cameroon Institute of Agricultural Research for Development (IRAD), within the framework of the Programme of Accompanying Research for Agricultural Innovation (PARI).
El presente documento contiene la propuesta conceptual y metodológica para la elaboración y puesta y en marcha de una herramienta que permita verificar el grado de modernidad de la segunda generación de planes de ordenamiento territorial (POT) y la primera generación de planes de ordenamiento departamental (POD), a partir de la revisión de los contenidos de los documentos asociados a los Planes y de los procesos desarrollados para su construcción.
Este documento tiene como propósito avanzar en un análisis del sector agropecuario en Colombia desde una perspectiva territorial. La base de este análisis es el reconocimiento expreso de la heterogeneidad territorial presente en Colombia y de la necesidad de contribuir con insumos técnicos que permitan reconocer las diferencias para así poder identificar de manera más precisa oportunidades para un sector que tiene potencial de desarrollo y que en un contexto de construcción de paz, puede ser fundamental para un crecimiento sostenible e inclusivo.
Este estudio examina el gasto público dedicado al fomento productivo agrícola en México. This study focused on analysing the determinants of farmer participation in direct marketing channels using the case of the cassava sector in the Oyo State of Nigeria. The Bivariate Tobit model was applied in the empirical analysis, based on a primary dataset generated from 400 rural cassava farmers from the Oyo State of Nigeria. The main objective of this study was to analyse the effects of the determinants of farmer decision to either participate in the processor or middlemen marketing channels in the Oyo State of Nigeria.
Among other functions, the INIA is involved in national and international cooperation in the field of agri-food research. The process of identifying and classifying gaps in our knowledge forms an essential part of this effort. This article describes that process, the tools and the materials used to achieve the final objective, namely, the identification of research priorities in the Spanish agri-food sector in order to deal with the societal challenges posed by society and the stakeholders involved.
This paper studies the relationship between internationalization and performance in agri-food firms. In line with the recent literature, it analyses the effects of the degree of internationalization using a uniform sample, a long-term focus and a measure that combines export intensity and regional diversification. Public administrations have in recent years developed programs of public funding for innovation to boost the competitiveness of business. The study of how companies have used these funding sources generates knowledge to improve the design of support for private innovation and to provide advice for innovative companies. This paper investigates these issues in the agri-food sector which is of particular interest as it is comprised mainly of small and medium enterprises with a wide regional presence and interaction with their local environment.
