La herramienta sobre formulación, monitoreo y evaluación de proyectos se ha diseñado con el propósito de que los participantes puedan identificar oportunidades para el desarrollo de un proyecto y le den seguimiento a este tipo de iniciativas. Se muestra que los proyectos tienen un ciclo de vida, surgen alrededor de la identificación de un problema que se desea solucionar, pasan por la ejecución y evaluación y terminan probablemente con la generación del diseño de otro proyecto.
Esa tesis doctoral tiene como objetivo general analizar el proceso de evaluaciónde impactos económicos, sociales y debido a la jeneración de intangibles de innovaciones generadas por centros públicos brasileños de investigación. Se justifica la elección de Brasil y de las innovaciones desarrolladas en el sector agrícola en razón de la importancia económica y social que tiene para el país el desarrollo de las actividades de este sector, que genera una de cada tres unidades monetarias del Producto Interno Bruto - PIB.
Con el objetivo de generar insumos para las iniciativas TIC de las instituciones públicas para la agricultura y rescatar las experiencias y lecciones aprendidas de los países de America Latina y el Caribe que llevan la vanguardia en este tema, a mediados de 2010 el Centro de Análisis para la Agricultura (CAESPA) del IICA inició un proceso de identificación y análisis de los principales factores que retrasan o limitan el impacto de las TIC en esas instituciones.
A lo largo del trabajo se resume la interacción histórica entre los contratistas y la agricultura como una forma de caracterizar a estos empresarios y resaltar los aspectos que han influido en su expansión, convirtiéndolos en una peculiaridad de la agricultura argentina. This publication describes the activities carried out in the tripartite event ‘Transforming Nutrition-Sensitive Value Chain Development in the Pacific Islands.” It was implemented by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) in collaboration with MORDI Tonga Trust, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO). The document starts discussing the main events and field trips that were realized after talk about the lessons learned and in the end brings some case studies and sucess stories.
This study will answer the following questions: (i) What is the socio-economic impact of the Banfora Milk Platform on actors in the milk value chain? (ii) What investments are needed to maximize the impact of the Banfora Milk Platform? The answers to these questions will help Innovation Platform actors to measure the socio-economic impact of their innovation and also to take steps to correct shortcomings in order to substantially improve the income of beneficiaries. This study estimates the mitigation potential of agricultural practices supported by IFAD’s current investments in agricultural development to provide guidance for the design of future IFAD investments. We use data from field studies in the scientific literature to estimate the effects of a large set of agricultural practices promoted by IFAD (and other development agencies) on soil organic carbon stocks, nitrous oxide emissions from soils, and methane emissions from rice paddies.
Thw IFAD-funded Programme d'Appui au Développement Rural dans le Guéra (PADER-G) project was implemented with the main objective of supporting poor rural households and smallholder farmers in Guéra, Chad to improve their food security and livelihoods. One specific aim of PADER-G, designed to manage risks of food shortage, was to improve cereal storage among smallholder farmers through the construction of community cereal banks (banque de céréales).
