The Establishment of the Rahad Scheme in Eastern Sudan in the 1970s established an agricultural innovation system where formal actors such as extension, research, finance institutions and informal actors such as agro pastoral organizations are networking to provide better livelihoods within the irrigated scheme area. This investigation focuses on the roles and interactions of agro pastoral organizations and finance institutions in relation to extension work in Rahad Scheme.
The paper, prepared for the "High Level Policy Dialogue on Investment in Agricultural Research for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific" (Bangkok Thailand; 8-9 December 2015), presents the Common Framework on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS).The framework is a core component of the Action Plan of the TAP, a G20 Initiative, aiming to increase coherence and effectiveness of capacity development for agricultural innovation that lead to sustainable change and impact at scale.

Durante la IX Reunión del Grupo Técnico de Investigación, Tecnología, Transferencia e Innovación del CAC el 28 de noviembre de los corrientes en la ciudad de Panamá. Para el PDRR la agricultura familiar necesita de nuevos y fortalecidos sistemas locales de innovación que sean especializados para su actividad, esto requiere de una agenda planificada desde los territorios con el fin de atender las demandas de los productores familiares.
El objetivo de esta guía es proponer una metodología para la “evaluación de la sostenibilidad de los sistemas de producción de la agricultura familiar”, a través de “indicadores de sostenibilidad”. Con ellos se busca detectar “puntos críticos” en los sistemas de producción que limitan su sostenibilidad, de forma tal que se pueda iniciar un proceso de elaboración de “estrategias de gestión sostenible” enfocado al fortalecimiento de la agricultura familiar y al desarrollo de los territorios rurales en los que se desenvuelven.
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer el uso de las TIC por parte de los AF. Se busca dar cuenta del proceso de creación social de la innovación y tecnología, desde una concepción de la complejidad de los procesos de innovación y de comunicación, asumiendo a las TIC como medios de comunicación. Este trabajo sigue el marco teórico de la Innovación, incorporando conceptos de la Teoría de la Comunicación.

This has led to the generation of a great demand for knowledge, preparation and motivation of the people who work in the organizations and in the agribusiness environment.
This chapter analyses the access to and adequacy of formal sources in meeting the credit needs, particularly agricultural credit needs, of small farmers in India with the help of banking data, and data on the borrowing profiles of these households collected through the village surveys of the Project on Agrarian Relations in India (PARI).Three major institutions provide formal credit in the rural areas of India today: commercial banks, regional rural banks (RRBs), and credit cooperatives.
