Les technologies agricoles jouent un rôle central dans la production alimentaire mondiale. Une étude récemment publiée par le Conseil des technologies de l’information et des communications (CTIC) s’est penchée sur la question. On y fait valoir que les technologies sont nécessaires à l’amélioration de l’efficacité de la production agricole et de la durabilité des denrées alimentaires.
This flyer expresses the idea that Agricultural knowledge, science and technology (AKST) cannot be achieved through business as usual and that nstitutions are needed that can drive efforts in the face of unprecedented challenges. The discussed key questions are: How have institutions shaped the development of AKST? What are their impacts on sustainable and equitable development? Which institutional arrangements have the greatest potential to drive and deliver sustainability and development goals?

The Nile Basin Development Challenge (Nile BDC) is funded by the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food (CPWF) to improve the resilience of rural livelihoods in the Ethiopian highlands through a landscape approach to rainwater management. The first project of the Program reviewed past research and development experiences with sustainable land and water management in Ethiopia.
