El objetivo esencial de este documento, de autoria de la Unidad de Gestión Comercial Estratégica de Fedepalma es optimizar la rentabilidad palmera. Desde esta perspectiva, el Área de Promoción de Valor Agregado busca generar ingresos adicionales al sector mediante propuestas de nuevos usos y nuevos productos, a partir de los productos y subproductos del procesamiento del fruto de la palma de aceite.
El presente artículo analiza la forma como se desarrolla el cambio en los campos organizacionales a partir del emprendimiento institucional en el caso de la industria cafetera colombiana desde una perspectiva teórico-conceptual.
This study aims to characterize buffalo veal supply chain in 5 villages around Cairo. Value chain approach was applied to analyze veal supply chain using the data of 82 farmers, 4 traders and 4 butchers. Economic analysis was applied to different scenarios of raising calves using buffalo milk, cow milk or milk replacer. Survey analysis showed that 65% of farmers sold veal as early as possible. However, 61% of farmers sold their calves for economic reasons, 14 % for technical reasons and 25 % for both economic and technical reasons.

Crowdsourcing, understood as outsourcing tasks or data collection by a large group of non-professionals, is increasingly used in scientific research and operational applications. In this paper, we reviewed crowdsourcing initiatives in agricultural science and farming activities and further discussed the particular characteristics of this approach in the field of agriculture. On-going crowdsourcing initiatives in agriculture were analysed and categorised according to their crowdsourcing component.
This paper highlights important lessons for co-innovation drawn from three ex-post case study innovation projects implemented within three sub-sectors of the primary industry sector in New Zealand. In order to address food insecurity, the New Green Revolution for Africa (GR4A) promotes tighterintegration of African smallholder farmers, especially women, into formal markets via value chains to improve farmers’ input access and to encourage the sale of crop surpluses. This commentary offers a theoretical and practical critique of the GR4A model, drawing on early findings from a five-year study of value chain initiatives in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mozambique.
