Individual farmers often receive low prices for their harvest, and pineapple producers in Bangladesh are no exception. To help them, CDAIS facilitated a series of meetings and coaching. Starting with a capacity needs assessment workshop in April 2017, a coaching plan was developed to meet capacity gaps identified by the partnership of pineapple producers, complete with an action plan. This paper presents and discusses a diagnostic framework to identify institutional processes in the creation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) for agricultural innovation. The diagnostic framework proposed here combines a conceptualisation of institutions with a conceptualisation of technology. We argue that a performative notion of institutions provides a better tool for institutional diagnostics than the common understanding of institutions as ‘rules of the game’.
Esta tesis busca construir de manera participativa criterios para la selección de alternativas de manejo de sistemas agroforestales de café con sombra relacionadas al uso de la biodiversidad en La Dalia, Nicaragua.
El objetivo del estudio fue analizar el camino del impacto impulsado por el Proyecto Cacao Centroamérica y otras iniciativas relacionadas con el desarrollo de la producción y comercialización de cacao en la región de Waslala, Nicaragua. Se utilizó la metodología Impress ex post (Impact of Research in the South), la cual considera elementos de evaluación cualitativa y cuantitativa, y permite reconstituir el camino del impacto de manera participativa, enfocándose en los procesos de innovación.
El presente trabajo pretende ser una herramienta útil para APPAG, que les permita tener un diagnóstico empresarial y socio organizativo de la asociación, mismo que servirá para la identificación de las limitaciones y las fortalezas de la empresa. Estos avances permiten tener un insumo para la realización participativa de un plan estratégico, en el que se definen las acciones que se deben priorizar en un tiempo determinado. Tal plan es complementado con un plan de acción para definir actividades y dar cumplimiento a los objetivos de la asociación.
This paper reportson the implementation of a conceptual framework to carry out an impact evaluation of multi-stakeholder innovation systems using the NLA as the object of study. The assessment focused on the business relationship constructs of trust and capacity development. Survey interviews, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions collected data from agribusiness stakeholders linked with the NLA and from a control group of stakeholders involved with other networks. The quantitative data were analysed through factor and regression analyses

Capacity development is a core enabling factor in the delivery of the 5 Livestock CRP flagships. One of the strategic capacity development actions for the Livestock CRP is to design evidence based capacity development interventions based on capacity needs analysis.
