Este documento relata una investigación de carácter documental de experiencias propias de los autores a través de la docencia e investigación de campo por más de cuatro décadas, describe el papel del adminsitrador de negocios agroalimentares en la seguridad alimentaria. El documento está escrito dentro del orden que exige un ensayo en la técnica bibliográfica.
Este documento describe un estudio que pretende ayudar a establecer una cultura de Planificación Estratégica en las empresas agrícolas y contribuir así a la meta de aumentar las ganancias para los agronegocios propuesta a través del uso del Análisis Estratégico. Primero usando un análisis FODA para abordar los diagnósticos; el resultado de lo cual permite la generación de un plan estratégico para la empresa y, finalmente, el diseño de la propuesta de Balanced Scorecard.
Innovation platforms are groups of individuals or stakeholder representatives with different backgrounds and interests. They come together to diagnose problems, identify opportunities, and find ways to achieve their goals. When innovation platforms are set up by development projects, their processes are usually facilitated by the support organization.

The turn of agrarian sciences and agricultural extension from reductionist and transfer of technology, respectively, towards systemic approaches has transformed agricultural/rural development thinking in the last decades. Nevertheless, the emergence of Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) has to confront a number of gaps among which the expert – lay knowledge gap is of major importance. This paper aims at exploring such a gap as well as obstacles to participatory development from a critical realist point of view.
