This work has largely focused on the developed world, yet the majority of people and future economic growth lies in the developing world. Further, most research examines micro data on consumers or firms, limiting what is known regarding the role of macro factors on diffusion, such as social systems. Addressing these limitations, this research provides the first high-level insights into how green building adoption is occurring in developing countries.
In this article, wes developed a quantitative model to compare HT and CF supply chain finance schemes with each other and with traditional, fixed-price delivery contracts, which we identify as Soft Tolling (ST). We make this comparison in the setting of a three-echelon agricultural supply chain, where the third echelon is a large, creditworthy food/beverage manufacturer. This article proceeds as follows: the next section discusses related literature. Section 3 presents our model of an agricultural supply chain and the three specific contract variants (ST, HT, or CF) that we study.
The innovations of this paper lie in the establishment of a multi-product supply chain model composing of a farmer cooperative and a supermarket in which the farmer cooperative supply multiple types of agricultural products to the supermarkets rather than single type of agricultural product. The study started by studying the optimal decision-making behavior of the members of the supply chain in non-coordinated modequantitatively. Then, was applied the revenue-sharing contract to coordinate the mode.
Conflicts of interests have been hypothesized when agricultural advisory services are connected to agri-input businesses. However, these have not been examined using large sets of advisory service and grower data. We provide quantitative insights into dependencies between service, crop production, sustainability and the level of agri-input business-linkage of extension workers. This study analyzed 34,000+ prescription forms (recommendations) issued to growers in China, as well as grower interview data.
To meet global demands towards food security, safety as well as sustainable agriculture and food systems innovative approaches are inevitable. Despite the growing body of literature in both innovation research and in values and aims, what has been explored to a lesser extent is the bridging link between these areas. This study represents a first step in addressing this relationship.
The present essay aims to present a partial view of the evolution of thought on business management and economics of organizations applied to agriculture and identifies perspectives for empirical studies. The paper contains four topics. Following this introduction, the second part revisits the concept of agribusiness systems, the third part presents the institutional/property rights perspective and contractual approach, and part four suggests research issues in the field of economics of organizations
In sustainability research, transdisciplinary (TD) approaches that involve practitioners in the research process have emerged as promising tools for enhancing real-world knowledge and engendering societal change. However, empirical insights into how such participation can contribute to the societal effects of TD research are scant and largely rely on single case studies, neglecting practitioners’ perceptions.
This data article contains annotation data characterizing Multi Criteria Assessment (MCA) Methods proposed in the agri-food sector by researchers from INRA, Europe's largest agricultural research institute (INRA, https://institut.inra.fr/en). MCA can be used to assess and compare agricultural and food systems, and support multi-actor decision making and design of innovative systems for crop production, animal production and processing of agricultural products.
