This poster resumes the investigation of long-term effects and potential of a training and certification scheme launched in 2006 to address milk food safety concerns in the informal dairy markets and offer a route for the gradual legitimization of informal dairy actors. The scheme offered training on hygienic practices, quality testing and business skills and facilitated access to a government license, and was designed to scale up and be selfsustaining.

Capacity development is a core enabling factor in the delivery of the 5 Livestock CRP flagships. This report conducted a gender assessment exercise to evaluate if the current solutions/innovations are gender responsive or not. Three innovations were selected that are primarily focused towards Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and that had affordability and ease of use as key objectives. The gender assessment embraced a qualitative research approach. This choice was guided by the need to appreciate respondents’ understanding and experiences or perceptions of the different innovations that RAN has been nurturing and developing over the years
This literature review was developed by the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) as part of the Policies, Institutions and Markets Program of the CGIAR. Its objective is to gain a better understanding of scale up processes, strategies and practices in programmes aimed at reducing poverty through improved markets. Its focus is the dissemination of new behaviour through these markets as a result of the interventions of said programmes.

El taller tuvo como objetivo el fortalecimiento de capacidades de actores nacionales en la formulación e implementación de proyectos que integren temáticas de género y cambio climático. El taller adoptó un enfoque práctico donde se compartieron diferentes herramientas para ser usadas en las diferentes fases del ciclo de proyectos con enfoque de adaptación y/o mitigación al cambio climático en el sector agrícola para garantizar una visión de género e inclusión social.
