Este trabajo tiene como objetivo preparar participativamente una estrategia local de desarrollo sostenible bajo cambio climático en el municipio de Santa Rita, departamento Copán - Honduras, con énfasis en la comunidad de Tierra Fría No. 1. Para eso busca desarrollar un análisis del territorio en sus diferentes dimensiones (cultural, social, económico, institucional y ambiental) y caracterizar a los diferentes actores que integran la mesa de ambiente y producción (MESAP) de la MANCORSARIC, incluyendo la comunidad de Tierra Fría N.
The Climate Adaptation in Rural Development – Assessment Tool (CARD) is a platform to explore the effects of climate change on the yield of major crops. It is intended to support the quantitative integration of climate-related risks in agricultural and rural development investments and strategies, including economic and financial analyses (EFA).This tool provides data for 17 major crops in nearly all African countries. It is currently available for North Africa, West and Central Africa, and East and Southern Africa.
Este documento describe el Proyecto Internacional BIOMAS-CUBA, enfocado a utilizar la biomasa como fuente renovable de energía, contribuir a mejorar las condiciones de vida, y lograr la coexistencia entre mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático, seguridad alimentaria y sostenibilidad energética en el medio rural. BIOMAS-CUBA abarca la producción y utilización de biodiesel y biogás, la gasificación de biomasa y la producción de bioproductos.

La revisión que se hace en este artículo aborda intereses de tres investigadores quienes, preocupados por analizar los sentidos de la dimensión ambiental y la institucionalidad, deciden hacer algunos aportes frente al desarrollo de capacidades sociales en lo que implicaría la consolidación del desarrollo local, particularmente, en aquellos territorios en los que ésta presenta una crisis, no sólo en sus ecosistemas, sino en la gestión institucional para protegerlos y evitar daños irreparables.
This article presents programmatic lessons on scaling up research for development innovations that were implemented through the Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF). Co-funded by the International Development Research Center (IDRC) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC), CIFSRF was a nine-year, two-phased program (2009–2018) that supported applied research to develop, test and scale proven food and nutrition security innovations. One of the questions commonly asked is if they are knowledgeable and possess positive attitude towards renewable energy sources. The aim of this article is to investigate Agricultural professionals' attitude and willingness towards biofuel using a random sample of professionals (n = 180) in a survey conducted in Zanjan province in Iran
The aim of this paper is to propose an innovative operational framework that couples life cycle assessment (LCA) and a participatory approach to overcome these issues. The first step was to conduct a progressive participatory diagnosis of the socio-ecological structure of the rural territory and to characterise the main cropping systems. The results of the diagnosis and other data were progressively triangulated, validated and consolidated with the stakeholders at the territorial level. The paper discusses the quality and validity of data obtained using a participatory approach.
Poverty is prevalent and widespread in rural Tanzania, where agriculture is the main activity. The government is making significant public investments intended to speed the growth of agriculture as a means to accelerate inclusive economic growth. In line with public investments, the government is promoting public–private partnerships by encouraging the use of improved agricultural innovations and linking farmers to markets, seeking to increase their yields and income.
