AFINET is one of the seventeen thematic networks that the European Union has financed under the H2020 framework and it is supervised by the EIP-Agri in order to foster innovation in Europe. The main topic of AFINET is agroforestry a practice of deliberately integrating woody vegetation with crops and/or animal systems and the promotion of this practice to foster climate changes. AFINET follows a multi-actor approach linked to the nine Regional Innovations Networks created to identify main challenges and develop main innovations about agroforestry.
The aim of the present article is to propose a new approach to improve interactions between stakeholders, using traceability and contractualization. Faced with a crisis generated by volatility, collective action, incorporating all stakeholders, including consumers, is needed: but what exactly must be done? The article first describes the SDSC approach which combines three main concepts: Extended Demand, Extended Supply and Demand-Supply Chain (DSC), and then goes on to detail how a collaborativemodeling tool needs to be built up.
The Participatory Market Chain Approach (PMCA), which aims to stimulate gender-responsive innovations in commodity chains, was used to improve the performance of ALVs market chains in central Uganda. Este estudio pretende analizar las relaciones entre educación cooperativista y extensión rural en la gestión de cooperativas agrarias. En la metodología se utilizó la técnica del cuestionario que fue enviado a las cooperativas agrarias del estado de Minas Gerais. En los resultados, se muestra que el desarrollo de esta modalidad de educación y el trabajo llevado a cabo por las organizaciones, especialmente la Empresa de Asistencia Técnica y Extensión Rural del Estado de Minas Gerais (Emater-MG), se ha manifestado como auténticas organizaciones de naturaleza consultiva.
Although much has been written on how to implement and facilitate innovation platforms efficiently, few studies support ex-ante appraisal of when and for what purpose innovation platforms provide an appropriate mechanism for achieving development outcomes, and what kinds of human and financial resource investments and enabling environments are required. Without these insights, innovation platforms run the risk of being promoted as a panacea for all problems in the agricultural sector.
La presente publicación sistematiza la experiencia de la Alianza Aprendizaje Perú a la luz de sus once años de trabajo y que aspira ser la base para una nueva etapa de trabajo para responder a los retos que el nuevo escenario actual plantea para promover el desarrollo y encontrar alternativas para la población más vulnerable del país. El estudio ha sido realizado por la empresa Proexpansión y conducido por Gladys Triveño en coordinación con el equipo técnico de la Alianza.
Las Plataformas de Innovación para implementar una Agricultura Sostenible Adaptada al Clima (PIASAC) para los pequeños agricultores fue un proyecto que tenía como objetivo generar conocimientos y capacidades locales sobre cambio climático y construir opciones de adaptación de manera participativa. El proyecto se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Gracias, ubicado en el Corredor Seco de Honduras.

Small millets, a group of highly nutritious food, have taken a back seat in the Indian agriculture landscape in recent years, due to government policies and failings in the value chain. In this commentary, the unusual decline of small millets in comparison to its substitutes, and the repercussions thereof, were first presented as context. Thereafter, based on analysis of data from literature, survey, and stakeholder contributions, a cluster map for the Indian small millets value chain was designed, and its competitive state presented.
Multi-stakeholder participation (MSP) has become a central feature in several institutions and processes of global governance. Those who promote them trust that these arrangements can advance the deliberative quality of international institutions, and thereby improve the democratic quality, legitimacy and effectiveness of both the institutional landscape, as well as decisions made within it. This paper employs a heuristic framework to analyze the deliberative quality of MSP.
