During the last two decades there is a growing awareness of the importance of introducing organic agricultural production in Serbia due to issues of health, environmental protection and need for more sustainable agriculture. There is a need for education of small farmers on the possibilities of organic production and significance of information technologies for education, production and marketing. This paper aims to examine the perception on the possibilities of organic production and ICT use concerning their level of education.
To augment youth employment, the Government of India has launched a number of skills training programs. Agricultural machinery manufacturers historically referred to the intermediate players for selling, maintenance, customer service and/or training of equipment appear to interact with farmers and end-users. Intermediate players have therefore faced the burden to master the technology, in constant evolution, and the associated training needs at the interface between sophisticated equipment and the end-user and its sociological characteristics (age, education, background, etc.).
Por su complejidad, el cambio profundo que hoy requiere la formación docente se vincula con la capacidad de comprender y reconocer el surgimiento de los procesos “emergentes” que den paso a la innovación. Para poder identificar intervenciones con mayores oportunidades de tener incidencia en los procesos de formación, es necesario reconocer y comprender los procesos “emergentes” y su sostenibilidad cuando se pasa del nivel local al general (masificación).

This blended learning program lead by ILRI draws on the practice briefs, the workshop experience and materials from partners including IITA, Wageningen University, ICRAF and FARA. It comprises an online component of 14 modules and a 3-day workshop. The final component of the course is a face-to-face workshop which provides learners with opportunities to apply their newly acquired knowledge to the challenges of their own platform or that of their peers. The workshop features role plays and collaborative group work based on actual scenarios.
This article surveys the trends in agricultural extension programmes and services found across the world, including privatization, decentralization, and pluralism. The general movement from top-down extension services to demand-driven programmes is explored along with its impact on the skills needed by extension professionals.
Este trabajo describe la evolución desde los sistemas de transferencia de conocimientos agrarios más tradicionales, con transmisión lineal de la investigación a los usuarios, hasta sistemas que propicien en mayor medida la innovación, con la intervención de multiplicidad de actores entre los que se incluyen investigadores, agricultores, asesores, educadores, políticos, empresarios, etc.
This training manual was developed for Africa RISING, a USAID funded research-for-development (R4D) program that recognizes gender mainstreaming as key for achieving its overall research and development objectives. The program is based on an integrated action research and farming-systems approach, and strives for gender transformation. A gender capacity assessment in 2015 identified a pronounced demand among Africa RISING scientists for training in gender analysis. As a first step towards addressing this need, an annotated bibliography with selected sources for self-learning was developed.
