Until recently, little attention has been paid to local innovation capacity as well as management practices and institutions developed by communities and other local actors based on their traditional knowledge. This paper doesn't focus on the results of scientific research into innovation systems, but rather on how local communities, in a network of supportive partnerships, draw knowledge for others, combine it with their own knowledge and then innovate in their local practices.
Agriculture developments have revolutionized the overall agricultural practices however, the small farmers are still suffering as they were not able to cope with the fast-paced changes. Thus, it still poses a threat to their survival. The study has attempted to explore how the environment can motivate a small farmer to adopt the agriculture extension. The study also examined how environment stimulates the intrapreneurship of a small farmer. For this purpose, data was collected from the farmers of Thailand and Smart-PLS was used for data analysis.
El objetivo del presente artículo fue analizar los flujos de conocimientos de tecnología en la producción de jitomate (Lycopersicon esculentum) en invernadero, estimando parámetros de redes sociales al inicio de las escuelas de campo en 2010 y a su término en 2011. Se trabajó con productores de pequeña escala del medio rural en el estado de Oaxaca que participaron en las escuelas de campo para la transferencia de tecnología. In the systems perspective on innovation, co-operation between several different types of actors is seen as key to successful innovation. Due to the existence of several gaps that hinder such effective co-operation, the scientific and policy literature persistently points at the need for intermediary organizations to fulfill bridging and brokerage roles. This paper aims to provide an overview of the insights from the literature on such ‘innovation brokers’, and to contribute to the literature by distilling lines of enquiry and providing insights on one of the lines identified.
El objetivo del presente trabajo es abordar la estrategia de desarrollo local desde las comunidades de aprendizaje (CA), con fundamento en la generación de flujos de conocimiento que subyacen en un aula de clase y se transforma en conocimiento, en el contexto municipal - parroquial vinculado con las instituciones del sector público y privado impulsando acciones de emprendimiento e innovación con el apoyo de medios virtuales propiciando el desarrollo endógeno.
El trabajo fue llevado a cabo mediante la observación de las relaciones socioeconómicas que afectan a la cadena productiva, la identificación de las características y distribución de la fuerza de trabajo y de los medios y relaciones de producción y distribución.
Contemporarily, agriculture is facing many challenges connected with growing food demand and scarcity of natural resources. In meeting these challenges innovation has become of crucial importance. The paper aims at providing an insight on the topic of the needs and possibilities of open innovation and its significance for the transition towards sustainable and more productive agriculture of EU. We argue that given the complexity of innovation process there emerges the need for effective interactions between all actors of agriculture sector.
Evaluation provides effective feedback for development plans and programs. In this respect, it is of utmost importance to ensure that the outputs of agricultural extension and education projects are compatible with the ones expected. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to evaluate agricultural extension model sites approach from actors’ perspectives and to analyze their gaps via the context, input, process, and product (CIPP) evaluation model.
Although an agro-based country, the farmers of Bangladesh do not receive significant returns from their products, due to some obstacles blocking the achievement of this ultimate goal. This study tries to identify the major challenges of the agroforestry product supply chains in Bangladesh, and offer an alternative solution through the involvement and experiences of farmer cooperatives within a Japanese cooperative model.
