Career summary in Development Works/fields
I have been involving, working, experiencing and implementing the various significance community development programs individually and organizationally and local NGOs partners around more than 16 years. Throughout the years I have been serving successfully all the community development programs directly with entire indigenous groups and mainstream communities specially on communities livelihood development, Human and Indigenous rights, Emergency Response, Good governance, Education, Health, Child and women development and empowerment, Youth and Adolescent leadership development and empowerment, Climate change, community empowerment, Social Awareness raising, motivation and mobilization, Advocacy and networking, establishment of community voice, sports for development, communication for development, rights of information and so on.
The main inspirations come and influence me that I have borne and grown up in the inaccessible, remote, backward, deprived and poor family. On the other hand, we lived under worse security and safety due to political conflict and insurgency in between PCJSS and Bangladesh Govt. Because of these reasons, there were no development programs introduced in the entire areas. Although within such situation (starting year 1990), I compelled to be involved in development works to reach the development package and due to poverty besides continuing my educational study.
Moreover, I worked voluntarily and travelled within risky as the period of insurgency in the most interior where there was no single new face, information and other necessary interventions in order to mobilize communities on education, growing savings mentality, collective initiatives and land entitlements.
As social development activist, I started since 1990 with Catholic Missionary and afterwards gradually CARITAS, MSF-Holland, HOPE’87 Austria, TOYMU, CARE, JICA, Sonne International, local authorities, concern GOB line departments and ministries as staff, head of organization and leading person-organization of local NGOs partners in different projects holding different positions and levels covering different communities and 7 sub districts of Bandarban . Through the various programs I got chance to work closely with the valuable development funding agencies and partners of the projects like UNDP, UNICEF, Save the children, SIL, CARE, GTZ, ICIMOD, CVM-Italy, Manitese-Italy, European Commission, HOPE’87 Austria, Sonne International-Austria, Hellen Keller, DANIDA, UNDP, German Embassy, BRAC, Prince Claus Fund-The Netherlands, HOPE’87 Austria, UNESCO, DFID, Manusher Jonno Foundation, WFP, ADB, IPDS, NGO Forum, ministry of women and children affairs, CHT ministry, youth ministry, Traditional institutions, elected bodies, BHDC and Regional Council etc. And I also worked with many national and international expertises and learnt many things to promote my professionalism in development fields.
My assignments in service delivery were projects-program execution and management, planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, conduct and facilitate training, workshop, seminar, advocacy, networking, linkage building, policy, rules and regulation development, adaptation and implementation, organizational development and change, strategic planning, financial administration and management, project proposal writing, taking leadership and establishment of Social Development and Change agents in the community.
I had been involved in socio-economic development survey directly with CARA, Helen Keller, WFP, JICA, CHTDF-UNDP and so.
I took leadership through the programs in order to capacitate persons, organizations and professionally institutionalizations by accessing partnerships local NGOs and community based organizations. In this connection also made me more encouragement and continuation in leadership development.
Through the service delivery, I learnt that gaining Language is the first and most important weapon to make an effective service to the communities. Therefore, I learnt bawn, mro, marma and chittagonian as well as a local made broken chittagonian language which is invented by the local communities.
To enhance my knowledge and skills besides practical experiences, I have received and participated various trainings, workshop and seminar relating to the development works in country and abroad conducted by very renown organization and institutions like, UNDP-CHTDF, SIL, ILO, OXFAM, Commuica, Comic Relief, Sports for development UK, ITC-Italy, DANIDA, Mohidul University-Thailand, VSO and AMAN-Indonesia, Maleya Foundation – Nepal, CAMPE, UNICEF etc.
I also have been involving as member in Bangladesh National Youth Council, Bangladesh Tripura Kallan Sangsad, Chittagong Hill Tract Women Organizations Network Foundation, Youth Voice and local different associations.
A part of the above stated, I have also good knowledge, experiences and ideas on local culture, believes, practices, languages, customs, profession and sensitizations. And establish effective communication, relation, coordinator, collaboration and dealing with different all ethnic communities, networks organizations, stakeholders at locality, regional and national level. On other side, I am in skilled on monitoring, evaluation, result based management, knowledge management, Project searching and fund approval process, networking, advocacy, facilitation and presentation, conduct training-workshop-seminar, team building and administration.
