According to the literature on regime transition, niches are sources of innovation that may lead to the transformation of the dominant regime, if processes at other level of the system – the landscape and the mainstream regime - are supportive. A focus on actors involved in the transition process and the analysis of their specific role in knowledge networks can help assessing the robustness of a specific niche and its growth potential. Knowledge systems, and in particular the dynamics of local and expert knowledge, have in fact a key role in innovation models.
This is the final report of the fifth regional consultative forum meeting of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) convened in Hyderabad, India from 19 to 21 June 2014. It was attended by 85 participants from 17 countries and 28 national, regional and inter governmental partner organizations and projects. Forum participants came to the meeting to develop and reach consensus on ways of implementing policies and action plans designed to address the major challenges confronting the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in the region.
The study analyzed the value chain of natural rubber in Nigeria. The study specifically mapped the natural rubber value chain and identify the functions performed by the respondents in the chain; identified the existing marketing channels and estimated the marketing margin at each value addition point. Data for the study were collected using a well-structured questionnaire administered to 425 respondents selected using a two–stage sampling process involving random and purposive sampling techniques
La capacité de la région Proche-Orient et Afrique du Nord à réaliser des avancées majeures dans la concrétisation du deuxième Objectif de développement durable (ODD 2) dépendra, dans une large mesure, de la gestion durable des ressources en eau pour l’agriculture et de l’adaptation au changement climatique. La transformation agricole dans cette partie du monde a suivi une trajectoire particulière ayant conduit à un déséquilibre entre le développement agricole rural et urbain, qui se manifeste de manière très visible dans les systèmes de production alimentaire.
