This report documents those detailed gender dimensions of root and tuber crops (RTC) farming practices, showing how differently men and women engage in them, and it also provides a critical analysis of the gender considerations required for interventions. There are certain commonalities across field sites in the four countries.

Las cuatro buenas prácticas que se presentan a continuación son experiencias que fueron parte del Proyecto Innovación y Competitividad de la Papa (INCOPA) que formó parte de la Iniciativa Papa Andina, un programa regional implementado por el Centro Internacional de la Papa (CIP) y financiado por la Agencia Suiza para el Desarrollo y la Cooperación (COSUDE).
El presente documento sistematiza una experiencia exitosa reconstruyendo la acción colectiva que se propició para la generación, desarrollo y difusión de dicho concepto de innovación y aplicando la perspectiva de sistemas de innovación para identifi car las etapas de la misma.

The research programme URBAL (Urban-driven Innovations for Sustainable Food Systems) (2018–2020), funded by Agropolis Fondation (France), Fondation Daniel & Nina Carasso (France/Spain), and Fundazione Cariplo (Italy), and coordinated by CIRAD (France) and the Laurier Center for Sustainable Food Systems at Wilfrid Laurier University (Canada), seeks to build and test a participatory methodology to identify and map the impact pathways of urban-driven innovations on all the dimensions of food systems sustainability.

To augment youth employment, the Government of India has launched a number of skills training programs. In this paper, the authors review the conditions that have been undermining sustainable food and nutrition security in the Caribbean, focusing on issues of history, economy, and innovation. Building on this discussion, we then argue for a different approach to agricultural development in the Small Island Developing States of the CARICOM that draws primarily on socioecological resilience and agricultural innovation systems frameworks.
This paper, part of the Social Sciences Working Paper Series, presents studies undertaken by nine community-based, natural resource management (CBNRM)-oriented organizations in China, Viet Nam, the Philippines and Mongolia. The partner organizations, representing three broad types: academic, regional network, and community based, were brought together by a 2006 initiative in an informal network to develop and pilot methods for evaluating capacity development in community-based natural resource management.
