The gender capacity assessment in Ethiopia, which took place in December 2016, analysed the current gender capacities against desired future gender capacities of the African Chicken Genetic Gains (ACGG) partners. It measured six core gender capacities at organizational and at individual (staff) levels of all six engaged national and regional research institutes. These capacities are assessed in relation to the environmental (contextual) level; the institutional and policy environment that enables or disables the other capacities.
In developing regions with high levels of poverty and a dependence on climate sensitive agriculture, studies focusing on climate change adaptation, planning, and policy processes, have gained relative importance over the years. This study assesses the impact of farmer perceptions regarding climate change on the use of sustainable agricultural practices as an adaptation strategy in the Chinyanja Triangle, Southern Africa.
The promotion of land, soil and water conservation measures has been a widespread development in sub-Saharan Africa in a bid to tackle degradation and improve productivity. As a result, several governments have launched various campaigns on soil, land and water conservation measures. The aim of this study is to determine some of the factors that influence farmers’ awareness (knowledge) and adoption of land, soil and water conservation practices. Data for this study was collected from 312 households using a questionnaire survey in the Chinyanja Triangle of Southern Africa.

Para el PDRR la agricultura familiar necesita de nuevos y fortalecidos sistemas locales de innovación que sean especializados para su actividad, esto requiere de una agenda planificada desde los territorios con el fin de atender las demandas de los productores familiares.
De octubre del 2014 a noviembre del 2016, el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) y la Coordinadora Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Pequeños Productores y Trabajadores de Comercio Justo (CLAC) ejecutaron el proyecto “Fortalecimiento de capacidades agroempresariales y asociativas de organizaciones de pequeños productores para su vinculación a los mercados locales utilizando el modelo de agronegocios de comercio justo”, con recursos del Fondo de Cooperación Técnica del IICA (FonCT)1 y la CLAC2 .
