This presentation argues the need of green growth in agriculture, analyzes features of the innovation systems and ends with some policies practices. The presentation has been prepared for "Innovation and Modernising the Rural Economy", OECD’s 8th Rural Development Policy Conference, 3-5 October 2012 (Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation).
The presentation was delivered to a conference entitled "Science Protecting Plant Health" in Brisbane on September 26th 2017 and then in private policy briefings to ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) and DAWR (Australian Government Department of Agriculture) in Australia. The presentation includes description of the role of the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP) and case study examples from CABI’s work to describe capacity building at the levels of individual, organisation and enabling environment.
This presentation was given for the SEARCA Forum-workshop on Platforms, Rural Advisory Services, and Knowledge Management: Towards Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development, Los Banos, 17-19 May 2016. It introduced power asymmetries, how to empower members in innovation platforms, conflict management, negotiation and trust.
This short presentation, prepared for the 22nd European Seminar on Extension and Education (ESEE) in Wageningen (29 April 2015), summarizes the SOLINSA (Support Of Learning and Innovation Networks for Sustainable Agriculture) project and its objectives and describes the three features to enhance transition towards sustainable agriculture through learning & innovation: 1) Processes of co-evolution; 2) Joint Reflection; 3) Facilitation.

La presentación da una definición de agricultura familiar y sus características esenciales conjuntamente con una definición de extensionismo. Después, ésta habla sobra les avances del extensionismo en las políticas sectoriales y la incorporación de nuevos temas y actores en la agenda de extensionismo.
La extensión es el proceso de intervención de carácter educativo y transformador, cuyo objetivo es el desarrollo económico y social de las familias rurales, a través de servicios de asistencia técnica, intercambio de tecnología, desarrollo de capacidades y capacitación. Este documento muestra como lograr estos servicios.
La presentación explica qué tipo de indicadores se pueden usar para valorar la extensión rural.
Este documento hizo parte de la sesión 2 (Modelos de Vinculación de Productores Pobres Mediante Negocios Inclusivos) del Taller Regional de Intercambio de la Alianza de Aprendizaje, realizado en junio de 2010, y presenta el concepto de Negocios Inclusivos (Qué son, Cuáles son sus beneficios para la empresa y para las comunidades pobres), Cómo implementa el Servicio Holandés de Cooperación al Desarrollo (SNV) este modelo de negocio y cuáles han sido sus principales lecciones aprendidas; así como algunos casos de aplicación y un mapeo regional de intervenciones en negocios inclusivos
Michael Kügler, from the Brussels Office of the EU-Platform of Chambers of Agriculture, presented the EU-Innovation Partnership (EIP),designed to support knowledge transfer, coop-eration, and collective investment, at the 3rd GFRAS Annual Meeting, "The Role of Rural Advisory Services in Agricultural Innovation Systems", 26-28 September 2012, Philippines. He referred to the need to pursue innovation in a cross-sectorial approach, interlinking existing initiatives, facilitating communication, providing value added through networking, and achieving syner-gies.
