Los nuevos modelos de transferencia de tecnología aplicados desde la década de los noventa al sector rural mexicano han tenido como resultado bajas coberturas, en 2010 sólo el 2% de 5.5 millones de unidades de producción rural contaban con este servicio. En busca de mejorar la eficiencia y eficacia de los recursos públicos, se propone una estrategia para incrementar la cobertura de transferencia de tecnología en el sector rural. Se analizaron 11 casos de agentes de cambio que intervinieron en 2010 con procesos de transferencia de tecnología.

The main objective of the Guidelines is to provide a non-binding complement to other guidelines and offer advice to RDP evaluation stakeholders on how to carry out the evaluation activities for answering the common evaluation questions related to innovation. Since the RDP’s effects on innovation in rural areas can be expected to take place, most likely, in the long-term, the guidelines focus in particular on those evaluation related activities, which will be reported in the AIR in 2019 and in the ex post evaluation. This paper offers a perspective on the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System. The first chapter gives an introduction to the subject and explains the role of SCAR and of the Strategic Working Group AKIS. The second chapter investigates the AKIS and their role in innovation, including the policy context of the European Innovation Partnership “Agricultural productivity and sustainability”. Chapter 3 discusses the relation in a globalised world between Agricultural Research (AR) and Agricultural Research for Development (ARD).

En esta investigación se analizan y aportan evidencias acerca de la concepción y metodología de cadenas productivas o redes de valor aplicadas al café, así como su utilidad para la integración vertical de productores y sus organizaciones. En estos procesos de agregación de valor e innovaciones en la cadena tiene un papel fundamental la creación de redes de participación y autogestión de actores, en la perspectiva de lo que se denomina como enredamiento para el desarrollo sustentable.

Social learning in multi-actor innovation networks is increasingly considered an important precondition for addressing sustainability in regional development contexts. Social learning is seen as a means for enabling stakeholders to take advantage of the diversity in perspectives, interests and values for generating more sustainable practices and policies. Although more and more research is done on the meaning and manifestations of social learning, particularly in the context of natural resource management, little is known about the social dynamics in the process of social learning.
The emergence of a globalised knowledge economy, and the contemporary views of innovation capacity that this trend enables and informs, provides a new context in which development assistance to agricultural research and development needs to be considered. The main argument in this paper, which focuses on The Netherlands, is that development assistance should use this emerging scenario to identify niches where inputs can add value to the R&D investments of others, particularly in activities that help wire up innovation systems, linking R&D to other activities and actors in society.
This report provides a synthesis of all findings and information generated through a “stocktaking” process that involved a desk study of Prolinnova documents and evaluation reports, a questionnaire to 40 staff members of international organizations in agricultural research and development (ARD), self-assessment by the Country Platforms (CPs) and backstopping visits to five CPs. In 2014, the Prolinnova network saw a need to re-strategise in a changing context, and started this process by reviewing the activities it had undertaken and assessing its own functioning.
