En el artículo analizamos la innovación biotecnológica relacionada con los sectores agrícola y alimentario en México. Tomamos en cuenta las políticas públicas, las leyes y las reglamentaciones; la dinámica del sector y del merado. Asimismo, analizamos la forma en la que las empresas agro-alimentarias pueden aprovechar los insumos de conocimiento científico y tecnológico que ofrece la biotecnología.
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar los esquemas de innovación tecnológica y su transferencia en las agroempresas frutícolas del estado de Michoacán; para ello se mapeó una red de 137 nodos del sistema–producto guayaba de la región oriente de la entidad. Con el software Keyplayer 2, se calcularon los tres actores clave difusores y estructuradores, y con NetDraw se determinaron los actores conformantes de la red primaria, ello hizo un total de 33 nodos entrevistados. De éstos, se seleccionaron tres actores para efectuar el estudio de caso.
Cet article aborde la mise en place d’un projet d’agroforesterie villageoise, pour la gestion intégrée des ressources naturelles, dans le hameau de Duale Mitterrand (52 ménages) situé sur le plateau des Batéké (République démocratique du Congo). Il repose sur un travail de terrain effectué entre février et mai 2012 dans le cadre du mémoire de fin d’études du master en sciences et gestion de l’environnement de l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
Du fait de leur transversalité et de leur objet, l'évaluation des politiques de développement territorial ne peut pas s'appuyer sur les outils utilisés pour évaluer les politiques sectorielles. Les questions procédurales sont très largement dominantes, les dispositifs portant essentiellement sur la gouvernance et la coordination. Pour évaluer une démarche procédurale, il convient de préciser le référentiel d’évaluation à la fois en termes du quoi et du comment évaluer.
Les conventions locales peuvent être définies comme des accords légitimes négociés entre plusieurs parties prenantes (stakeholders) dans une perspective de régulation des ressources naturelles – en termes de contrôle, d’accès, d’appropriation, d’usage et d’exploitation – et de l’environnement. Au Sahel, bien qu’elles soient en vogue et jouissent davantage d’attention chez les décideurs, elles constituent des instruments encore peu exploités dans le contexte actuel de la décentralisation (Diallo, 2003).
Following the remarkable success of performance testing in the commercial sector, the Agricultural Research Council's Animal Improvement Institute (ARC–AII) initiated a beef cattle performance testing scheme for smallholder farmers in 1996. The scheme, which became known as Kaonafatsho ya Dikgomo (Sotho for animal improvement), has been running well in the Northern and North West Provinces and is set to spread gradually to the rest of the country.
This book documents a unique series of 19 case studies where agricultural biotechnologies were used to serve the needs of smallholders in developing countries. They cover different regions, production systems, species and underlying socio-economic conditions in the crop (seven case studies), livestock (seven) and aquaculture/fisheries (five) sectors. Most of the case studies involve a single crop, livestock or fish species and a single biotechnology.
This report provides a synthesis of all findings and information generated through a “stocktaking” process that involved a desk study of Prolinnova documents and evaluation reports, a questionnaire to 40 staff members of international organizations in agricultural research and development (ARD), self-assessment by the Country Platforms (CPs) and backstopping visits to five CPs. In 2014, the Prolinnova network saw a need to re-strategise in a changing context, and started this process by reviewing the activities it had undertaken and assessing its own functioning.
In this book, the authors assessed the role of biotechnology innovation for sustainable development in emerging and developing economies. This book compiles studies that each illustrate the potential, demonstrated value and challenges of biotechnology applications for sustainable agricultural innovation and/or industrial development in a national, regional and international context.
Processes of designing for systemic innovation for sustainable development (SD) through the lens of three long-term case studies are reported. All case studies, which originated from the SLIM (Social Learning for the Integrated Management and Sustainable Use of Water at Catchment Scale) Project, funded within the EU Fifth Framework Program (2001–2004), constitute inquiry pathways that are explored using a critical incident approach.
