Innovation Platforms in the Aquaculture Value Chain in Egypt was presented at the National Aquaculture Innovation Platform Workshop, Cairo, 19-20 February 2014. It is a CGIAR Research Program on Livestock and Fish that aims to increase the productivity of small-scale livestock and fish systems in sustainable ways, making meat, milk and fish more available and affordable across the developing world.
The presentation was given in January 2009 and introduced why a new approach for livestock development for poverty alleviation was desirable, innovation, innovation systems and value chains, building of innovation platforms, learning-oriented monitoring and evaluation, and scaling up and out.
The module aimed to identify and examine the main features and characteristics of complex agricultural problems, explore innovative solutions to address complex agricultural problems, and examine the circumstances under which innovative solutions emerge.
This presentation was given at the CIDA Stakeholders’ Workshop, ILRI, Addis Ababa, 2 May 2012. It introduced the value chain concept, value chains and marketing channels, business development services, and value chain upgrading.

Esta presentación dentifica factores que inciden en la adopción de tecnología e innovación productiva en la citricultura familiar en el municipio de Chajarí, Entre Ríos. Más del 80% de la producción citrícola provincial se concentra en la región NE de Entre Ríos, que es realizada por más de 1600 productores familiares con superficies de 25 ha. El 56% de la producción se destina a mercado interno, 34% a industria y 11% a exportación.

This study investigated how value chain governance influences farmer participation in vegetable markets and food security in Kenya. This study employed exploratory case study design to provide chain architecture, isolate primary actors, their roles, relations, constraints and opportunities for upgrading by smallholders.
