This poster resumes the investigation of long-term effects and potential of a training and certification scheme launched in 2006 to address milk food safety concerns in the informal dairy markets and offer a route for the gradual legitimization of informal dairy actors. The scheme offered training on hygienic practices, quality testing and business skills and facilitated access to a government license, and was designed to scale up and be selfsustaining.

These crops are reproduced not with true seed but with vegetative planting material (e.g., roots,tubers, vines, stems, and suckers), called “seed” in this article. Seed systems for VPCs need to be designed differently than those for true seed, and coordination among stakeholders in seed systems is crucial
This report describes the work carried out by Institute of International Agriculture (IITA) and Olam in the Mt. Elgon region in Uganda to develop climate-smart agricultural (CSA) practices to help farmers to manage the specific effects of weather variability/climate change to that region and lay them out in a “Stepwise” pathway tailored to specific farmer segments to help them make smarter and more timely investment in resilience building practices.
The main question this paper seeks to address is what are the advantages and disadvantages of specific approaches that hold out promise for scaling up CSA research findings to contribute meaningfully to the challenges of poverty and climate change. The aim is to build on the existing agricultural adoption and CSA literature to unite the concepts under a common framework and draw 5 from the learning to inform future actions.

Estos procesos necesitan nuevas estructuras sociales donde se involucre a la sociedad civil organizada, como los llamados Grupos de Acción Local (GAL) creados en el contexto de la iniciativa europea LEADER.
El municipio de la Palma, Cundinamarca tiene como base de su economía la agricultura y la ganadería, en el cual el cultivo de café es motor de su desarrollo. La Asociación de Caficultores de la Palma “ASOPARIBARI” organizó a familias de la zona, para buscar la mejora de los procesos de organización comunitaria, productividad y sostenibilidad cafetera. Por otro lado, la Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia impulsa proyectos para la construcción de centrales de beneficio del café para mejorar la calidad del grano y el manejo de subproductos.
This paper presents results from an action research intervention aimed at strengthening the role of private sector advisers in the Australian agricultural extension system. Private sector advisers participating in the research identified a number of barriers to their effective inclusion in this system.
