This study aims to investigate blockchain technology for agricultural supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic. Benefits and solutions are identified for the smooth conduction of agricultural supply chains during COVID-19 using blockchain. This study uses interviews with agricultural companies operating in Pakistan. The findings discover the seven most commonly shared benefits of applying blockchain technology, four major challenges, and promising solutions.
This paper used systematic literature network analysis to review the state-of-the-art blockchain technology including its recent advances, main applications in agri-food value chain and challenges from a holistic perspective. The findings suggest that blockchain technology together with advanced information and communication technology and internet of things have been adopted for the improvement of agri-food value chain management in four main aspects: traceability, information security, manufacturing and sustainable water management.
El presente documento contiene un primer borrador de lineamientos generales de política pública para la agricultura campesina, familiar y comunitaria en Colombia, construido en el marco de la Mesa Técnica de Agricultura Familiar y Economía Campesina que lidera el Viceministerio de Desarrollo Rural. El objetivo de este documento es recibir la retroalimentación por parte de un grupo de expertos internacionales en agricultura familiar y de los actores participantes de la Mesa Técnica de Agricultura Familiar y Economía Campesina.

South–South cooperation is one of the instruments for engagement, and affinities between Brazil and African countries are invoked to justify the transfer of technology and public policies. In this article, examines the case of one of Brazil’s development cooperation programs, More Food International (MFI), to illustrate why policy concepts and ideas that emerge in particular settings, such as family farming in Brazil, do not travel easily across space and socio-political realities.

The same gender gap in the country’s smallholder agriculture frustrates the multifunctional potentials of agriculture in achieving sustainable development outcomes. The smallholders drive the agricultural sector, comprise majority of the worlds’ poor and are found in all regions in Nigeria.

Dentro del sector agropecuario, las empresas familiares representan en 80 por ciento de las unidades productivas que hacen al desarrollo económico de Argentina y Uruguay. Esta iniciativa forma una comunidad virtual donde el público objetivo son los propietarios, socios, fundadores, asesores, gerentes, potenciales sucesores y toda persona interesada en los temas relativos a la empresa familiar, sin distinción de género o edad, del sector agropecuario de estos países.
Chile es un país líder en la exportación de alimentos, en donde la apicultura juega un rol fundamental y cuenta con más de 1 300 000 colmenas para apoyar la producción de alimentos a través de la polinización. Las buenas prácticas deben ser abordadas de generación en generación de apicultores para favorecer el mantenimiento de colmenas sanas y activas para la presentación de servicios sistémicos de polinización.
The digital transformation in agriculture introduces new challenges in terms of data, knowledge and technology adoption due to critical interoperability issues, and also challenges regarding the identification of the most suitable data sources to be exploited and the information models that must be used.
