Institutional innovations are critical for effective performance of agricultural research centres in natural resource management projects that often include multiple and diverse stakeholders with contrasting objectives and activities. This report shows how institutional histories of projects can be used as tools to help reveal institutional innovations thereby promoting Institutional Learning And Change (ILAC).
The development objective of the Sustainable Management of Agricultural Research and Technology Dissemination Project is to improve the institutional capacity and performance of the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD) to develop and disseminate relevant and demand-driven innovative technologies, meeting the needs of producers and of the agri-food system. There are four components to the project. The first component of the project is human resource development and management.
The Sanjiang Plain Wetlands Protection Project (SPWPP) supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), focuses on integrating conservation and development needs in the Sanjiang Plain, Heilongjiang Province of the People’s Republic of China. The project comprises 5 main components: watershed management, wetland nature reserve management, alternative livelihoods, education and capacity building and project management.
The Foresight project Global Food and Farming Futures final report provides an overview of the evidence and discusses the challenges and choices for policy makers and others whose interests relate to all areas that interact with the food system.

La agricultura de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) se enfrenta a una oportunidad global sin precedentes: satisfacer los patrones de consumo diferenciados y de mayor calidad de 7000 millones de personas en la actualidad y de no menos 9000 millones para el 2050. Projet pilote, l’initiative Adaptation Learning Program (ALP) ou Programme d’Apprentissage sur l’Adaptation au Changement Climatique, est mis en œuvre pour une durée de cinq ans (2010-2014) à l’échelle de quatre pays subsahariens : Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique et Niger. Cette phase est conçue et mise en œuvre par Care et ses partenaires dans le but de « Renforcer la capacité des ménages vulnérables en Afrique sub-saharienne à s’adapter à la variabilité et au changement climatique à travers une approche d’adaptation à base communautaire (ABC) ».
The youth crisis has recently received much attention from the global community, particularly in how it intersects with the future of agriculture. Causes of the youth crisis include univeral youth disinterest in agriculture, deskilled youth populations, lack of access to resources, gender disparity and lack of reliable data regarding youth in agriculture.
El proyecto "Innovación para la seguridad y la soberanía alimentaria en la región andina" - IssAndes, se inició en marzo del 2011 y culminó en marzo del 2015. El proyecto fue ejecutado en Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú y Colombia, con socios de agricultura, salud y educación en cada país. Fue coordinado por el Centro Internacional de la Papa (CIP) y financiado por la Unión Europea a través del Fondo Internacional de Desarrollo Agrícola (FIDA).
