This flyer provides an overview of the TAP Common Framework on Capacity Development (CD) for Agriculture Innovation System (AIS). The objective of the Common Framework is to consolidate the different approaches to CD for AIS, and make interventions more coherent and effective. Approved by TAP Partners in January 2016, the Common Framework is now being validated in 8 pilot countries in Africa, Asia and Central America.
The Guidance Note on Operationalization provides a brief recap of the conceptual underpinnings and principles of the TAP Common Framework as well as a more detailed guide to operationalization of the proposed dual pathways approach. It offers also a strategy for monitoring and evaluation as well as a toolbox of select tools that may be useful at the different stages of the CD for AIS cycle.
The Synthesis Document provides a synthesis of concepts and principles of the Common Framework developed under the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP). The objective of the TAP Common Framework is to promote better coherence and greater impact of capacity development in support of agricultural innovation in the Tropics. Developed in 2015 through a highly participatory process, it was agreed that the Framework should provide conceptual underpinnings and practical guidance.
El objetivo del presente trabajo fue caracterizar el consumo de setas en la ciudad de Mérida, a través de la perspectiva de los agentes comerciales o intermediarios (supermercados y restaurantes) para facilitar a los productores el acceso al mercado de las setas en forma exitosa. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal con un enfoque cuantitativo, en donde la muestra estuvo conformada por 15 supermercados y 28 restaurantes. Se emplearon las técnicas de observación directa y entrevista.
En este estudio durante el período 2008-2009, los objetivos fueron caracterizar a los productores, determinar el grado de adopción y evaluar el impacto del uso de la variedad de frijol Pinto Saltillo, generada por el INIFAP. El procedimiento metodológico se basó en una entrevista formal a una muestra de agricultores, los cuales fueron seleccionados al azar de una población de 45,000 productores registrados en el padrón de SAGARPA. El tamaño de muestra fue de 496 elementos.
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar las características de los consumidores de productos orgánicos en la Cd. de Toluca, Méx., a través de un análisis de los resultados de la aplicación de encuestas. La investigación se llevó a cabo en tres etapas: 1) Investigación documental, 2) Aplicación de encuesta, 3) Análisis de resultados. This facilitation guide was developed to support the training of scientists who are members of the CCAFS Working Group on impact pathways and M&E for results-based management. This case study systematises the experiences of the ICCO Alliance in introducing a multi-stakeholder approach in all of its relations with partner organisations and in its development cooperation practice. Using Ken Wilber’s framework of institutional change, the author presents the internal as well as external influences that need to take place at the organisational level, the level of individual staff in these organisation as well as between organisations in the ICCO Alliance for the ICCO Alliance to be able to change.
This working paper offers an overview of current theory and practice on climate change communication and social learning in the global South with a view of informing CCAFS strategy in this area. It presents a theoretical framework for understanding social learning and communication approaches and reviews the current landscape of approaches, tools and decision aids in communicating climate change in the context of development.
