El documento “Esquemas de comercialización que facilitan la vinculación de productores agrícolas con los mercados” define tres esquemas de comercialización que les permiten a los productores y a sus organizaciones entender las demandas de los consumidores, con miras a desarrollar procesos de valor agregado que les devenguen mayores ganancias.
El presente artículo analiza la forma como se desarrolla el cambio en los campos organizacionales a partir del emprendimiento institucional en el caso de la industria cafetera colombiana desde una perspectiva teórico-conceptual.
This report brings the experience of an Sharing Evend and Police tour held in eastern africa by FAO and the Rwanda agricultural board. The Field School study tour was organized by FAO Rwanda in collaboration with the Rwanda Agricultural board and involved participants from Kenya and Ethiopia. The participants from Ethiopia were 2 (Government and FAO) and those from Kenya were 9 (FAO, MOALF, University, Research). The tour was focussed on two districts namely Rulindo and Rubavu. On the first day the group visited FS facilitator training in Rulindo and later a visit to FFS facilitator group.
En este libro se sintetiza la experiencia de la CEPAL en los procesos de diagnóstico y formulación de estrategias orientadas al fortalecimiento de ocho cadenas de valor rurales en México, varios países de Centroamérica y la República Dominicana. El apoyo a estas cadenas fue posible gracias al financiamiento del Fondo Internacional de Desarrollo Agrícola (FIDA), en el marco del proyecto conjunto de la CEPAL y el FIDA denominado “Crecimiento inclusivo, política industrial rural y cadenas de valor participativas en América Latina y el Caribe”.
The last decade has seen an increasing advancement and interest in the integration of agroecology and participatory action research (PAR). This article aims to: (1) analyze the key characteristics and principles of two case studies that integrated PAR and agroecology in Central America; and (2) learn from the lessons offered by these case studies, as well as others from the literature, on how to better integrate PAR and agroecology.
This paper discusses external influences on innovation platforms (IPs) and the options for effective responses. The platforms examined in this paper were conceived as vehicles for facilitating institutional change in support of innovation that benefits smallholders, in selected agro-enterprise domains in Benin, Ghana and Mali. They were designed and implemented in a manner that enabled experimentation with processes of change in the selected domains.
Les pays investissent une grande partie de leur budget de renforcement des capacités dans l'apprentissage et la formation. Quelles mesures faudrait-il prendre pour s'assurer que ces investissements donnent des résultats utiles ? In the Office du Niger large rice farming irrigation scheme in Mali, water management has been a permanent source of tension between the smallholder tenants and the administration. The transfer of tertiary canal maintenance to the tenant farmers was expected to improve water management but, in practice, that rather led to deterioration.
On observe depuis une vingtaine d'années l'émergence de bassins de production maraîchère dans le Sahara algérien par la mobilisation des eaux souterraines profondes, en marge des oasis traditionnelles. Dans la vallée du Souf, les agriculteurs se sont orientés vers la culture de la pomme de terre, irriguée par des petits pivots artisanaux. L'objectif de l'article est d'analyser le processus d'innovation ayant permis l'émergence et la diffusion du pivot artisanal.
L'agriculture intelligente face au climat (climate-smart agriculture – CSA) a comme objectifs d'être adaptée au changement climatique et de l'atténuer, tout en contribuant de manière durable à la sécurité alimentaire. Né en 2010 à l'initiative de la FAO, le concept a fait école et se décline désormais en diverses pratiques qui prennent en compte ces objectifs de manière différente. Les pratiques agroécologiques de couverture permanente du sol, par des arbres ou des cultures, sont parmi les plus courantes.
