To establish an effective monitoring and evaluation system that would effectively measure progress towards achieving the project objectives and targets, different data collection methods including surveys, focus group discussions and participatory workshops were conducted. Data were collected to have an in-depth understanding of the constraints in the rice value chain and to identify intervention strategies for addressing the constraints through the value chain analysis approach.

A two-staged random sampling technique was used to elicit information from 277 extension agents in South West Nigeria using a structured questionnaire. This study is designed to assess the factors that affect smallholder rice farmer’s participation in market. In addition it also examines the effect of commercialization on the welfare of smallholder farmers. The method of Heckman two-stage model is used to obtain the desired objectives. Random sampling technique is used to collect data from 249 smallholder farmers.

Este manual incluye muy diversas herramientas y metodologías para promover el dialogo social constructivo e incluyente, el cambio de las organizaciones, la promoción de redes y alianzas para alcanzar objetivos de paz, la planeación, el seguimiento y la evaluación orientados a impactos. Todos estos temas, desde la perspectiva de la larga experiencia de trabajo de GTZ en el mundo, están muy relacionados con las capacidades necesarias para la construcción de paz.
