En esta publicación se presenta una visión general de las oportunidades y las dificultades actuales de las iniciativas encaminadas a aumentar los efectos de la extensión agraria y rural. El punto de partida para este análisis reside en el reconocimiento de que se ha superado la visión de la extensión agraria como sinónimo de la labor de los organismos del sector público.
This report represents findings on the role of women in small-scale farming (defined as farms up to 5 ha or 8 ESU), particularly in relation to governance frameworks associated with food and nutrition security. It follows SALSA Deliverable 5.1, which assesses the governance arrangements which impact upon small-scale farms and small food businesses. La agricultura de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) se enfrenta a una oportunidad global sin precedentes: satisfacer los patrones de consumo diferenciados y de mayor calidad de 7000 millones de personas en la actualidad y de no menos 9000 millones para el 2050. A esta oportunidad se suma el valor que le brinda la agricultura a las poblaciones rurales, no solo como su fuente alimentaria, sino también como su única o primordial fuente de ingresos. Y son los territorios rurales precisamente los llamados a prepararse, adaptarse y asumir el reto de alimentar al mundo.
La investigación está enfocada a caracterizar el perfil del extensionista agropecuario del oriente del Estado de México tomando las funciones que desempeña, problemas que enfrenta en el sector productivo, necesidades de capacitación y competencias. Los grandes desafíos del sector agropecuario demandan conocer el perfil del extensionista para fortalecer sus capacidades como actores del desarrollo rural, encargados de transmitir conocimientos e innovaciones tecnológicas a los productores para innovar los procesos productivos.
This Training of Trainers Manual is designed to help build the capacity of trainers in flash flood risk management, who can then disseminate the knowledge to a larger number of practitioners. The manual presents an eight-day course including a three-day field trip. Detailed lesson plans for 21 sessions are followed by resource materials that will enable the trainers to replicate the course in their own work areas.
The aim of this report is to provide a detailed review of documented social learning processes for climate changeand natural resource managementas described in peer-reviewed literature.
