This document sets out how EU Research and Innovation (R&I) policy contributes to the major global challenge of ensuring food and nutrition security (FNS). It is a first step in the further development of a more coherent approach to European R&I which aims at mobilising resources and stakeholders to set out aligned R&I agendas in response to recent international political drivers such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the COP 21 climate commitments.

This evaluation examined the support the European Commission’s DG for Development and International Cooperation (DEVCO) provided to Research and Innovation (R&I) in partner countries during the last EU budget period (2007-2013). The objectives of the evaluation were to provide an overall judgment on the extent to which the EU development co-operation policy has adopted a strategic approach to support R&I and whether the approach was appropriate to enhance capacity to reach development objectives.

That is why Katalyst project has launched the Innovation Fund initiative, a grant delivery mechanism to spur and encourage innovations in Bangladesh’s agri-business sector that ultimately benefit poor farmers across Bangladesh.
Innovation has a high potential for increasing productivity and farmers’ income,l and consequently reducing poverty and improving food security. However several tropic al countries lack the resources and capacities to suitably develop their agricultural innovation systems. To address this gap, the g20 established the tropical agriculture platform (tap), a multilateral dynamic facilitation mechanism, which fosters better coherence and greater impact of capacity development for agricultural innova tion systems in tropical countries.
Este estudio presenta un marco de análisis sobre los factores que inciden en la toma de decisiones de productores de jitomate (Solanum lycopersicum L.) en invernadero, en materia de adopción de innovaciones y proporciona información valiosa para su estudio y gestión. Como hipótesis se plantea que la adopción de una innovación depende de factores o atributos diversos, tanto del productor como de sus unidades de producción, como son edad, escolaridad, experiencia en la actividad, escala de producción, superficie de producción, rendimiento, confianza y asesoría técnica.
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar los factores mercadológicos que influyen en la producción y venta de las flores exóticas: hawaiana roja, hawaiana rosa e iris roja, que se cosechan en el Ejido Raymundo Enríquez en Tapachula, Chiapas. Se empleó el método de estudio de caso. El diseño de la investigación correspondió a un enfoque cualitativo, a un diseño no experimental y transeccional; de igual forma, al relatar lo encontrado se abocó a un estudio descriptivo, en el que se utilizó la técnica de la observación.
