La investigación está enfocada a caracterizar el perfil del extensionista agropecuario del oriente del Estado de México tomando las funciones que desempeña, problemas que enfrenta en el sector productivo, necesidades de capacitación y competencias. Los grandes desafíos del sector agropecuario demandan conocer el perfil del extensionista para fortalecer sus capacidades como actores del desarrollo rural, encargados de transmitir conocimientos e innovaciones tecnológicas a los productores para innovar los procesos productivos.
Esta tesis en el marco del Proyecto CATIE-MAGA-Noruega, brinda su aporte al componente dos del proyecto: Fortalecimiento de la articulación y sostenibilidad de los sistemas locales de extensión, orientado a establecer 25 sistemas locales de extensión fortalecidos en su articulación y capacidades en la aplicación de enfoques, métodos y herramientas de extensión rural en el municipio y cuyos aprendizajes se difundirán a nivel nacional.

This paper examines the design and implementation of a package of capacity strengthening interventions undertaken between March 2007 and March 2011, which aimed to enhance the performance of the national agricultural research system (NARS) in Lesotho. It also identifies some initial outcomes from these interventions and makes recommendations to sustain the process of organisational and institutional change and build on the results that have been achieved.
The objective of this case study is to understand the application of ICT technologies for rural groundwater management in China, and it’s impacts on the rural poor. This will help understand the physical and policy context this technology is being applied and expanded, its impact on resource management, and changes in water delivery service to farmers. These understanding will help improve this technology and provide data and information for its replication in other parts of Asia.
