El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar el grado de capital social en una microempresa y el impacto que produce en ella. En América Latina, la importancia de este concepto radica en que es un tema que cobra cada vez mayor relevancia ya que diversas disciplinas lo utilizan como marco de referencia, ya no sólo forma parte de la ciencia política y la sociología, sino de la teoría de las organizaciones, economía, comportamiento humano y administración; pone real énfasis en las relaciones entre las personas, entre las organizaciones y no en los individuos como entes aislados.
La agricultura intensiva mediterránea ha desarrollado en el último tercio del siglo XX importantes concentraciones territoriales de la actividad productiva de frutas y hortalizas en áreas determinadas del litoral español. Las ubicaciones de estos sistemas productivos de origen agrícola responden a una mezcla de condiciones naturales, históricas, económicas e institucionales.En este artículo se analizan los componentes de este cluster agroindustrial y su comportamiento evolutivo, para finalmente concluir si esta aglomeración productiva reúne los requisitos de un distrito industrial

All over the world, one of the main purposes of extension is to increase the level of living standards of the rural family through non-formal education. Extension has a very crucial role to play in sustainable development and organic agriculture. For that reason, extension activity is implemented by different institutions. Extension systems worldwide are operated by governmental (86%) and non-governmental (14%) organizations. In this paper, allelopathy is accepted as a technology to implement for weed control and biological control of other useful traits.

Understanding how an innovation system emerges and develops is critical to its promotion and to ensuring successful innovation processes. Unfortunately, research on innovation system approaches has neglected the interplay between innovation and entrepreneurship and overlooked focus on how innovation systems occur. Based on a unique framework integrating the innovation systems concept and entrepreneurship theory, this study uncovers a process of innovation system formation: a self-organizing system of innovation based on a promising technology: the New Rice for Africa (NERICA).
This paper aims to map the experience of the RIU Asia projects and draw out the main innovation management tactics being observed while laying the groundwork for further research on this topic. It provides a framework to help analyse the sorts of innovation management tasks that are becoming important. This framework distinguishes four elements of innovation management: (i) Functions (ii) Actions (iii) Toolsand (iv) Organisational Format.
There is an emerging body of literature analyzing how smallholder farmers in developing countries can benefit from modern supply chains. However, most of the available studies concentrate on export markets and fail to capture spillover effects that modern supply chains may have onlocal markets. Here, we analyze the case of sweet pepper in Thailand, which was initially introduced as a product innovation in modern supplychains, but which is now widely traded also in more traditional markets.
