Esta edición de la Revista de Desarrollo Económico Territorial trae tres temas centrales, tres estudios de caso y tres reseñas enfocadas en Cadenas de Valor en la agricultura. Loss temas centrales discutidos son: "De cadenas de mercancias (commodities) a cadenas de valor: construcciones teóricas en una época de globalización"; "La industria de aceite de palma en Ecuador: ¿un buen negocio para los pequeños agricultores?" y "Guayaquil y la región: desarrollo territorial e inclusión social".
El presente documento sistematiza una experiencia exitosa reconstruyendo la acción colectiva que se propició para la generación, desarrollo y difusión de dicho concepto de innovación y aplicando la perspectiva de sistemas de innovación para identifi car las etapas de la misma.

This paper illustrates the Small Stock Innovation Platform, an initiative which is one of the key tangible outcomes of the Strengthening Capacity in Agricultural Research for Development in Africa (SCARDA) program, focused on strengthening capacity in agricultural research systems in selected countries and institutions in all three sub-regions of Sub Saharan Africa.
The contributions and dynamic interaction of thousands of stakeholders from all sectors have created the GCARD (Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development) Roadmap, providing a clear path forward for all involved. The Roadmap highlights the urgent changes required in Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) systems globally, to address worldwide goals of reducing hunger and poverty, creating opportunity for income growth while ensuring environmental sustainability and particularly meeting the needs of resource-poor farmers and consumer.

The “E-learning methodologies” guide aims to support professionals involved in the design and development of e-learning projects and products. The guide reviews the basic concepts of e-learning with a focus on adult learning, and introduces the various activities and roles involved in an e-learning project. The guide covers methodologies and tips for creating interactive content and for facilitating online learning, as well as some of the technologies used to create and deliver e-learning.
This report is based on the outputs of a one week Exposure and Exchange Programme (EEP) in India hosted by the Self-employed Women’s Association (SEWA) with African women leaders of producer organizations from West and Central Africa. This report critically evaluates the SEWA model and draws conclusions relevant to African women producers organizations to better meet the challenges of raising Africa’s agricultural potential, improve incomes for small farmers, and ensure greater food security.

La diversificación de los sistemas de tenencia podría proporcionar una base para mejorar la gestión de los boques y los medios de vida locales, especialmente cuando la capacidad de gestión forestal del Estado no es suficiente.
This article reviews the approaches proposed by SCARDA to address capacity strengthening for research management, how implementation took place and the lessons learned from the implementation activities. It begins with an overview of the intended project outputs and approach to capacity strengthening, followed by the implementation processes as undertaken in each sub-regional organisation and finishes with the lessons learned.
