This report brings a review about the CTA activities in 2018 based on three intervention areas. One is promoting youth entrepreneurship and creating employment for young people, particularly through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The second, digitalisation, cuts across all intervention areas and focuses on the application of digital technologies to transform business models and provide new revenue throughout agricultural value chains.
The proposit of this brief was to look across several projects and experiences in digital agriculture and synthesize insights and lessons on what really works for nextgeneration agriculture and rural development practice and policies. The information in this brief is based on interviews held during this workshop with twelve entrepreneurs working in digital innovations for agriculture
The aim of this paper was to elucidate the positioning of actors in the CA knowledge network and how this influences use of ICTs; Analyse the institutional relationships influencing use of knowledge channels and examine the socio-economic factors determining the use of ICTs.
The main objective of this paper is to describe the AgroFE and Agrof-MM projects. This projects aims to develop an agroforestry training system based on a common framework and core content, and to promote training at European level. The knowledge databank is a component of the project training system. It aims to gather and share a set of documents, resources that partners can use and which will have been accessed by learners and the public users.
Se discute en este ensayo al sistema tecnológico milpa intercalada en árboles frutales (MIAF), como alternativa a MasAgro, para hacer más productiva y sustentable la agricultura tradicional en pequeño de México. El MIAF ha sido desarrollado por el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias y el Colegio de Postgraduados en Ciencias Agrícolas en más de 30 años de colaboración. Su diseño persigue la intensificación del paradigma de la agricultura tradicional (PAT) en pequeño.
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo general mostrar la relación entre las variables de la cultura organizacional del sistema de empresas de la comunidad indigena de Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, Michoacán y las formas de manejo forestal a través del análisis situacional.
Se indagan las respuestas de comunidades campesinas indígenas a las variaciones climáticas locales a partir de un caso en Chilchota, Michoacán, México. Es importante conocer los procesos emergentes que afectan la capacidad de producir parte de sus alimentos, en tanto que pueden elevar más el contexto de vulnerabilidad de dichas comunidades. Se presentan siete tipos de adaptaciones de los campesinos, los factores que inciden en la capacidad adaptativa y las diferenciaciones socio-productivas de los agricultores.
This paper aims to analyze the role of newcomer farmers on farming system innovations. It is based on a two-months long field work in Southern Portugal’s Alentejo region. The analysis of 27 interviews with farmers and members of agricultural organizations reveals neo-farmers’ contribution to farming system innovations at three scales: the farm scale, the scale of professional networks, and the territorial scale.

El objetivo de este trabajo es la recuperación y el registro de los saberes de una comunidad que se asocian al bosque nativo, mediante técnicas vinculadas a la etnobotánica, convirtiéndose de esta forma en una herramienta para el extensionista forestal que busca promocionar la revalorización de los saberes ancestrales de la comunidad Qom respecto a los usos y aplicaciones de las especies.
