“CDAIS no nos da dinero, pero abre espacios para tener contactos importantes para el desarrollo de los productores de las asociaciones y del rubro”, dice Segovia que también se propone gestionar proyectos para mujeres, un museo de chocolate, una tienda de productos de cacao y cursos de catación para cacao súper fino. Y comoBernarda Moya, una productora de cacao en Balfate, La Ceiba explica, “Las relaciones con CDAIS nos ayuda a ser creativos y beneficiarnos todos.”
Individual farmers often receive low prices for their harvest, and pineapple producers in Bangladesh are no exception. To help them, CDAIS facilitated a series of meetings and coaching. Starting with a capacity needs assessment workshop in April 2017, a coaching plan was developed to meet capacity gaps identified by the partnership of pineapple producers, complete with an action plan. The partnership also participated in a ‘marketplace’ event in Dhaka, a regional policy dialogue and two phases of capacity-building training. The result?
Today, entering Trishal, Mymensingh on the road from Dhaka, one sees rows of fish ponds. One after the other, they show a massive diversification from rice to fish cultivation in recent years, and an intensification of production. The tradeoffs between green crops and silver fish appear to be clear, as ever more farmers see the benefits in terms of profits and returns, and make the move into fish farming.
“Burera dairy opened in September 2015 but immediately had problems in sourcing milk as there was no organized supply chain” explains Managing Director Emmanuel Mahoro. “But things improved when everyone involved began to meet.” Beginning in November 2016 with a capacity needs assessment workshop, CDAIS has helped to bring different actors and interests together, followed by more meetings and coaching sessions. Centred on a reservoir and irrigation scheme for livestock keepers and crop producers, the core objective of CDAIS Rwangingo catchment was to promote fair, effective and efficient use of water, as well asconflict management through collaboration among users. It stimulated a partnership framework among water users, service providers (including extensionists, input suppliers and water users organisations ) and supporters (Agri projects, enablers).
In November 2016, a CDAIS capacity needs assessment of a community milk processing centre started a process that has seen clear changes in less than a year. The Burera dairy was selected as one of the country’s ‘innovation niche partnerships’, and the assessment, workshop and associated training allowed participants to better understand the value chain, the issues, problems, and possible solutions. This book collects 24 stories of change from the EU-funded CDAIS project. Launched in 2015, the overall objective of CDAIS is to make agricultural innovation systems more efficient and sustainable in meeting the demands of farmers, agri-business and consumers. The stories are about the eight pilot countries - in Africa, Asia and Latin America - in which CDAIS operates. En este artículo se analizó el sistema de agronegocios en el Perú en busca de identificar los factores, las herramientas, los procesos y las estrategias que han permitido la transformación de la agricultura familiar en negocios agroalimentarios.
Este articulo describe la sistematización de experiencias que tenian como idea inicial agregar valor a través del corte y limpieza del ajo, capacitando para ello a personas desocupadas. El proceso de sistematización se realizó según la Guía metodológica de Sistematización de experiencias de Desarrollo Rural elaborada por el Ministerio de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca (2011). La nueva propuesta resultó más adecuada a las condiciones de trabajo reales, por lo que los objetivos planteados se pudieron cumplir en un plazo más corto.
Este estudio identifica factores que inciden en la adopción de tecnología e innovación productiva en la producción vitivinícola familiar ubicada en el Oasis Este de Mendoza. Se abordan realidades territoriales desde perspectivas cualitativas con productores entre 10 y 70 ha. Se indaga respecto de las visiones de nuevas tecnologías, como cambios organizacionales, de sistemas de conducción y de estrategias de diversificación para mejorar la actividad.
