El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar opciones que permitan mejorar la productividad caprina en una microcuenca con dos poblados en las regiones áridas del norte mexicano. El estudio se realizó durante los años 2004 al 2007 y se basó en el enfoque de sistemas de producción. Se evaluaron aspectos socioeconómicos y ecológicos al nivel de macrosistema para identificar diferencias socioeconómicas y con posibles opciones generadoras de ingresos, y determinar la idoneidad del área para producir cabras e identificar tierras bajo cultivo que pudieran reconvertirse en tierras de pastoreo.
Durante la IX Reunión del Grupo Técnico de Investigación, Tecnología, Transferencia e Innovación del CAC el 28 de noviembre de los corrientes en la ciudad de Panamá. Para el PDRR la agricultura familiar necesita de nuevos y fortalecidos sistemas locales de innovación que sean especializados para su actividad, esto requiere de una agenda planificada desde los territorios con el fin de atender las demandas de los productores familiares.
Como parte del proyecto insignia del IICA “Productividad y sustentabilidad de la agricultura familiar para la seguridad alimentaria y la economía rural” se realizó un ejercicio participativo para identificar y validar innovaciones que contribuyan a la mejora de los sistemas de agricultura familiar.
The main objective of the Guidelines is to provide a non-binding complement to other guidelines and offer advice to RDP evaluation stakeholders on how to carry out the evaluation activities for answering the common evaluation questions related to innovation. The objective of this Guide is to recommend a process and set of steps for an organization to prepare, establish and to develop effective Water Users Associations (WUA) suitable to Tajikistan. It summarizes lessons learned in Tajikistan, by two donor finance projects, which established and trained 97 WUAs. Establishment of WUAs is essential in order to solve existing problems in the irrigation sector and other challenges faced by farmers and other water users3 .

This report highlights the great potential of the agribusiness sector in Africa by drawing on experience in Africa as well as other regions. The evidence demonstrates that good policies, a conducive business environment, and strategic support from governments can help agribusiness reach its potential. Africa is now at a crossroads, from which it can take concrete steps to realize its potential or continue to lose competitiveness, missing a major opportunity for increased growth, employment, and food security. The report pursues several lines of analysis.
