Des facteurs structurels expliquent l’insécurité alimentaire en éthiopie : forte croissance démographique, faible productivité des parcelles agricoles, cultures majoritairement pluviales, réseau de communication quasi inexistant, etc. Malgré des moyens et des marges de productivité importants, les politiques agricoles n’ont pas permis de réduire les besoins en aide alimentaire de la population. Uganda pioneered the use of budget support operations known as Poverty Reduction Support Credits (PRSCs) in the World Bank. PRSCs were designed to channel programmatic lending to support policy and institutional reforms in support of a country's Poverty Reduction Strategy, usually presented in the form of a Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP). In the case of Uganda the PRSCs were designed as a series of annual credits supporting a three year rolling program of reforms, based on Uganda's version of a PRSC, which is known as the Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP) .

There is a growing concern by governments, retailers and consumers about the safety and quality of food. Because products are resourced on a on a global scale it becomes important that the origin of the products as well as all the treatments during production can be traced and that the production methods can be verified as good agricultural practices (GAP). This also includes considerations for the environment and sustainability.

The private sector’s presence in agricultural advisory services worldwide has been on the increase for over three decades. This trend has also been observed in the Mantaro Valley (Peru), in a context of dairy family farming. The objective of the communication is to analyse the modalities of advisory services privatization and assess the consequences of this privatization for the farmers and their livestock systems. Data were collected through input suppliers, different types of advisers and producers interviews.
