This paper discusses the key components of the technical and institutional innovations developed to address this food and nutrition security concern in Zambia using locally bred varieties registered with the Seed Control and Certification Institute (SCCI). The institutional collaborations arising from this Innovation Platform has brought together various organizations/institutions in the innovation process and led to the capture of up to 5% of the market share.
The study was conducted in Kirinyaga County on rice and bananas and in Kisumu County on rice. Was used qualitative and quantitative methods and interviewed 247 farmers comprising 182 rice and 60 banana farmers respectively. Ten key informant interviews were conducted in Ahero and nine in Mwea Rice Schemes and the surrounding areas. One focus group discussion was held with Mwea Jua Kali/Valley bottom farmers. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, frequency analysis and cross tabulations.
The purpose of this study was to analyse the demand for mechanized agricultural services in the cotton-growing area of western Burkina Faso. This study seeks to: Identify the needs for mechanized agricultural services (type, significance); Determine the willingness of farmers to pay for the services; Propose a mechanism for developing local farm mechanization services.
The study is conducted in Sikasso, Koulikoro and Mopti regions on small scale irrigation systems for providing information and proposing solutions to decision makers. La base de este análisis es el reconocimiento expreso de la heterogeneidad territorial presente en Colombia y de la necesidad de contribuir con insumos técnicos que permitan reconocer las diferencias para así poder identificar de manera más precisa oportunidades para un sector que tiene potencial de desarrollo y que en un contexto de construcción de paz, puede ser fundamental para un crecimiento sostenible e inclusivo.

Public administrations have in recent years developed programs of public funding for innovation to boost the competitiveness of business. The study of how companies have used these funding sources generates knowledge to improve the design of support for private innovation and to provide advice for innovative companies. This paper investigates these issues in the agri-food sector which is of particular interest as it is comprised mainly of small and medium enterprises with a wide regional presence and interaction with their local environment.
This report documents those detailed gender dimensions of root and tuber crops (RTC) farming practices, showing how differently men and women engage in them, and it also provides a critical analysis of the gender considerations required for interventions. There are certain commonalities across field sites in the four countries.
