FAO and the Centre de Cooperation Internationale pour la Recherche et le Developpement Agricole (CIRAD) organized an expert consultation workshop on developing a methodology for assessing agricultural innovation systems. The meeting was held on 13–15 June 2018 at CIRAD Headquarters in Paris. It brought together 30 experts from academia, research, extension, the private sector, development agencies and government representatives.

This report is the result of a World Bank mission that visited Paraguay in June 2013 at the request of the Government of Paraguay. The mission’s objective was to identify, quantify, and prioritize agriculture risks that determine the volatility of agriculture gross domestic product (GDP), based on a methodology to assess sector risks developed by the World Bank. The methodology stipulates a two-phase process.
This report summarizes the findings of the study on Competitive Commercial Agriculture for Africa (CCAA). The objective of the CCAA study was to explore the feasibility of restoring international competitiveness and growth in African agriculture through the identification of products and production systems that can underpin rapid development of a competitive commercial agriculture.
The World Bank has a long relationship with Uruguay's agricultural sector, expanding over a period of more than 60 years in which several projects and various analytical and advisory assistance initiatives have been implemented.
This report is comprised of two volumes: (i) volume one: risk assessment; and (ii) volume two: risk management strategy. Volume one continues with chapter one, which characterizes the recent performance of the agriculture sector, including agro-climatic and market conditions. It also identifies the productive systems used for this analysis. Chapter two describes the main risks in the agricultural sector, capturing market, production, and enabling environment risks along the value chains involved in the selected productive system typologies.
The present study is part of an effort by the World Bank and the State of Bahia to assess agriculture sector risks as a contribution to the strategic economic development and poverty reduction agenda of the state government. Con este objetivo, dieciséis participantes de las diferentes áreas involucradas en la cadena productiva agropecuaria de la región de América Central y México compartieron sus experiencias e identificaron acciones y actores clave en el Seminario-Taller. A lo largo de tres días se conocieron diversas iniciativas que permitieron formular nuevos retos y conclusiones en torno a la cadena productiva.
Este documento presenta un análisis del contexto macroeconómico y sectorial y de las tendencias y perspectivas para los cultivos, la ganadería, la pesca, los bosques, el bienestar rural y las políticas públicas e institucionalidad del sector. A partir del análisis de las tendencias y las perspectivas, cada capítulo ofrece a consideración de los tomadores de decisiones una serie de recomendaciones que se considera aportarían a afrontar los retos de la dinámica económica mundial y a aprovechar las oportunidades que ofrece.
